We absolutely LOVED our experience with Nicky G’s! We contacted them only 3 weeks or so before a celebration of life ceremony in Alton, IL, and they were able to assist us. Tammy and Karen provided custom support and advice throughout the ordering process, helping us identify the optimal menu for our guests. On the day of the service, Karen and Tom were on site early and helped us set up a beautiful dessert table (with desserts we hadn’t bought from them). They even made extra cheese sliders for the vegetarians in our group. They stayed on as long as we needed and packed up all of our leftovers professionally and brought them out to the car for us. And - last but not least - everything was delicious!! Our guests all complimented the food and several picked up cards to make their own future orders. Can’t recommend them highly enough. My family and I deeply appreciate how easy and enjoyable they were to work with. The luncheon was an essential part of our ceremony and it all went off without a hitch thanks to...
Read moreNickyG's is a great neighborhood experiance! The building has some local history and the restoration has nice clean trendy lines. Nostalgic pictures line the shelf overhead and brings back memories if you grew up in Alton or the North Alton neighborhood. I have not been their lately but ran into a few people I grew up with when they first opened about a year ago. Seating is tight but congenial in the middle of the room. There Is a small counter and stools going around the room It would depend on the size of the group and time of day if you were to plan a group meeting there. Open for lunch or dinner. You go to the counter to order and pay then be seated where you want to sit. They will either call you to pick up food or bring it to your table. Refills on beverages. Menu spans from soup, salad, sandwiches to pizzas and dinner items. I had a great Thanksgiving dinner there around the season their first year. My favorite pizza has been mashed potatoes pizza. I really enjoy the experiences...
Read moreVery nice quaint little restaurant. Wife and I have been there twice. First time I had the homemade lasagna and my wife had the Mac and cheese, plus she added bacon. The lasagna was great, lots of cheese and very good marinara sauce. Large serving. The Mac and cheese sauce is awesome. Large enough for sharing or leftovers. The Nicky G salad is also good and the dressing is a sweet light Italian. Love it. Second time we tried the personal Pizza's. Lots of choices. It was very good. Crust was fresh and cook to where it had a little chew and crunch all at the same time. We both thought it was very good. Also came with a salad. Only suggestion is a better Italian crusty bread or bake fresh bread sticks and brush them with butter n garlic. Will definitely be back. Good Luck...
