I have been going here since the fair opened had to be in late 70s. Yes! This visit on 7.27.24 had to be the most terrible day there in all those years. It was so hot and water was not abundant. They should allow water to be brought in if they are not going to have an ample supply. Waited in a line of 23 people after walking 10 min to find it! The place was way over crowded. Lines too long. No place to cool off except a shade tree which was better but not great. The 6 of us spent 2.5 hours for $36 each tickets and drove 3 cars at $15 a pop for parking! The website said $10! Then you get there only to find out the $10 is a mile away! They advertise snowcone at a booth we had to walk around and seek out as map didn't show it. Then get there and they don't have them anymore! The kid we had wanted one so we got a slushy and thank God they had those! Saw no shows do to all full and overcrowded. Really sucked this visit. I tried to write to them on their website and the captcha thing would work so I couldn't even send a dang message. All around terrible rotten experience. One of our 1st timers never wants to go back. I've had the best experiences over the years but whoever is managing this year is not thinking about some stuff and I feel we got ripped...

At first I found it disturbing, then the more I drank, the easier it became to tolerate these Darwin Award Winners. Over all, expensive to enter, food severely over priced, booze was $5 $8. The vendors have a wide variety of goods of various quality,...
Read moreFun place to see shows and relax. The cheese puffs, mushrooms, sassafras soda amazing as always. Love the shows, especially Moonie (who is retiring) and the bawdy sings at the Pig &Whistle. Eat really early or late, or be prepared to stand in line a minimum of 20 minutes for food. Prices at the shops seem a little high this year; for the first time in decades didn't buy a...
