Battle Creek Golf Club — Local services in Broken Arrow

I was extremely disappointed with this course. My friend and I had played as a twosome on a late Sunday morning. As a twosome, I understand you usually will have to wait as your pace of play is generally faster than larger groups.

When we started, there were no groups ahead of us. We quickly caught up to a group on the third hole and noticed how slow they were playing. Each of them lost one - two balls on each hole and the hole group spent five to ten minutes looking for balls on each hole. We tried to hurry them a long and even drove up to talk to them about their pace but they didn't even speak and completely ignored us. We politely asked if we could play through and they didn't even respond.

Golf etiquette is something every golfer should have but it should also be the responsibility of the course to enforce in scenarios like this.

Also, on hole seven, my partner hit his tee shot about 15 yards to the right of the green. All of a sudden one of the workers came to water the green and parked his cart in between the green and his ball. The worker looked over and noticed his shot, apologized, then continued to water the green without even considering to move his cart. Not to mention it was very windy so he was spraying me with water while I was putting. At this point we were done and played through eight and decided to leave.

The course was also in terrible shape. Chewed up fairways and diseased greens. Don't waste your time, there are far superior courses in the area for less money.

I can't remember the last time I regretted going out for a round of golf. But I will not be back at Battle Creek unless I hear that the conditions...

Was in Tulsa and wanted to play a good round of golf. Everyone said Battle Creek was a great club. Staff was great, carts clean and worked. Greens were awesome. Well maintained and rolled true. The rough ( right off the fairway, not the natural areas) and tee boxes were a little long/scruffy. Still recovering from last year winter kill as most courses in OK are. Overall I would say the course conditions for first week on November were great. However, pace of play was an issue. 4:46 min round of golf. It was NOT FUN. There was a group 3 in front of ours that was so slow. After the 3rd hole, 2 groups waiting on almost every tee box. At the turn, the group in front of me lost 2 players, I lost my partner, and the group behind me lost 2 players because of pace. I joined the group behind me and STILL WAITED on the entire back 9. Saw a marshal several times but they seemed more like they were driving around to get free golf, not worried about pace of play. Needless to say not a good round, hard to get a rhythm when waiting 5-7 minutes on EVERY SHOT!!! I would try it again because of layout and conditions, but be wary of pace of play. I do not know if this is a normal issue or not but know that there is no one enforcing/caring about pace of play. So for my 1 experience, I would say try it at...

Positives of this course are decent fairway grass, wide fairways and pleasant staff. Pretty layout. They allow walking.

They shouldn't hype their greens on their website. It is within a housing development so even though the fairways are wide, on windy days you likely will put a ball or two in people's yards.. Some green to tee distances are a hike.

I saw the review that complained that they had aerated the greens and charged him to play. Since it was a full month after the aeration, and the last day they were offering the aeration discount, I made a tee time for a couple hours after my plane landed anyway. When I asked staff about the greens the response was pretty hairy. So even though greens make up a large portion on how I judge a course it wouldn't be right for me to downgrade on the aeration. On the other hand the website raves about how their greens are the best in the area. I hope you can tell from the pictures that there are some major dead areas on some of the greens that have nothing to do with the aeration. Greens are pretty large so it's probable that they can find decent areas to put the pins, but some of the greens have so much down area, they really need to change their website until they...
