I heard about Eagle Creek from a co-worker when a Group Golfer coupon became available earlier this year. I was told it was a fantastic track, so I bit the bullet and decided that the hour and 15-minute drive might be worth it. And yes, the deal paid off – Eagle Creek is now my favorite course of 2024.
The course boasts an excellent driving range equipped with a chipping green, practice putting green, and even a sand trap. The golf carts are fully GPS-equipped and even display a weather map, which came in handy when we had to take a brief break due to an approaching storm. The pro shop is top-notch, and the staff greeted us with friendly, welcoming smiles. The pace of play is well-managed, thanks to a huge TV screen inside the clubhouse that constantly monitors the players on the course.
Eagle Creek also has a full restaurant and bar upstairs, adding to the overall experience. We enjoyed a steady round without any wait time. As for the course itself, it's not terribly long, but that's okay. Each hole is unique, and I found myself keeping my driver in the bag for most of the round, opting for a more conservative approach to avoid water or trees. The course has a fair number of ponds and hazards, so playing your shots carefully is crucial.
The layout, with beautiful homes, especially on the back nine, gives the feel of playing at a country club. I loved the shorter par 3s, which boosted my confidence in landing on the green. The greens were quite fast and ran fairly true, with only a few areas causing minor hops. Overall, I was very satisfied.
Expect to pay around $50 on the weekend, which is more than fair compared to some courses near the Akron area that charge more. At Eagle Creek, you're getting a unique golfing experience that will keep me coming back for more. The only downside is the distance, but I'll definitely keep my calendar open and plan to return before the...
Read moreI absolutely hate that I have to write this review, but we just wrapped up one of the poorer experiences we’ve ever had on a golf course.
We unknowingly booked the first tee time after an outing of non-golfers. We were delayed by 10+ minutes because people in the outing showed up late, pushing us back. I feel the clubhouse should inform people about playing behind an outing when you call in to make the tee time.
We proceeded to have a 5.5 hour round! There was zero enforcement of pace of play, no apologies by the personnel at the course. Zero accountability!
Additionally, the course was cart path only. I have full respect and understanding for a course trying to maintain condition, but the course was BONE DRY! At the very least, cart restrictions could have been lifted by mid day.
All in all, it was an absolutely terrible experience. Lack of accountability, poor pace of play, and questionable cart restrictions sum up the experience.
I know this review will probably get lost in the grand scheme of things, but management need to have a spine and...
Read moreWe played August 11 at Eagle Creek expecting a top notch experience. My group and I travel close to an hour a couple times a year to play Eagle Creek, and until today, considered it one of the better courses we play in our rotation. Today we experienced bare spots in most of the fairways and bare spots on all tee boxes. The driving range was also in extreme disrepair. I checked into the clubhouse after the round to find out what happened. The girl working there said that the high temperatures, coupled with the humidity, created a fungus that is killing the grass. If that is the case, the groundskeeper needs to come up to speed on how to deal with it. The sand traps were in really good shape. We decided that we will not be returning until next year, and then, we will scope it out before deciding to play there. Hopefully, they can get it back to the high quality...
