Pros: -Beautiful Store.Location. -Wide variety of yarn. -They offer Classes. -Many projects/samples to view. Ask if tag is missing on a sample. It happens. -Allot of sock yarns from varied producers. -They have a podcast on YouTube. Newsletter, FB page and Instagram. Very connected. -Have knit nights (wkday eve after hour get togethers) Cons: -Often not large sweater/cardigan qty in stock. -Would like to see more WI grown/Farmers yarns/local producers sold. -No Karbonz Circular needles. Arggg. -Prices are up there. Be prepared for high markups. Overhead I bet bits in that zip code. -This shop has knowledgeable staff always 2 people. Helpful and snap right up if needed. I myself like that I am not ambushed at the door and able to browse. I am Not keen on gushy sales pressure. This place is just right. If you are looking for a warm fuzzy gushy chatty vibe, not likely here. I suggest if you are a newbie not to be shy, ask, ask, ask for what you need or insist on the info you require. Bring a pattern and collect yarn, spread it out on the table and play until you 'feel it'. I find Many knitters more or less know what they are looking for and are there on a hunting mission. In the see, squish, plan, execute jaunt or to take in the yarn stimulus in peace. If you feel unattended to or ignored it is probably not the owners aim, not at all on purpose. The nature of the clientele comfort zone is the same in most stores. I truly believe that anyone needing information will get it and more with a simple 'can you please help me'. It goes a long way. That being said it is located in a affluent area and that on the spot, car, attire, pocketbook opinion judgey stuff BS is bound to happen. I myself have waited in line in my jeans, tshirt, loafers, no purse, no makeup, no bling and find I am looked at in a dismissive way. Just let it roll off your back. You are a knitter in for a fix not a model there to find an agent!!! Is always interesting when I buy $500-$700 in project lots and walk back to my junker runner car. People are what they are.

Made a special detour to stop by Cream City Yarn on my way through the area. I wasn't disappointed. They are well stocked with all yarn weights & include several brands from local artisans. The problem is choosing just a few skeins! They offer classes & knit-a-longs (KAL) & you can get on their email list to be notified of new yarn shipments, starting classes, when & which KALs are starting, knitting ideas & patterns. They will also ship yarn & other products.

Stopped by this local yarn shop on my way to the airport. I had looked at the website ahead of time and picked out a kit that said it was in stock, so I was bummed when I arrived and it was out of stock. There were tons to browse and I had no problem picking out a different kit instead! The icing on the cake of course was getting to pet the adorable shop mascot. Would definitely recommend!

I visited this store today and wanted to purchase 2 skeins of yarn that were priced at $12.60 per skein per the shelf signage. When I got to the register, they rang up at $13.95 each. I mentioned the lower price on the shelf to the cashier, Rachel, and she verified that I was correct. She then called Chris over to see how to fix the pricing issue. Chris advised us that there had been a price increase and that the price at the register was correct. When I pointed out that advertising a price at one amount and charging more for the item at the register was illegal, Chris stated it wasn't illegal, just an error. I beg to differ, Chris. Please read the text below from WI Statutes:

98.08  Price refunds; price information.

(1)  A person who uses an electronic scanner to record the price of a commodity or thing and who sells the commodity or thing at a price higher than the posted or advertised price of that commodity or thing at least shall refund to a person who purchases the commodity or thing the difference between the posted or advertised price of the commodity or thing and the price charged at the time of sale.

Chris refused to sell the yarn to me for the lower price of $12.60 per skein, and therefore, she broke the law. Be careful shopping at this store, you could...

Walked in to find another knit shop and classes. I asked the woman if they had classes & or open knitting. The woman was not approachable and acted like she was too busy to answer any questions. I asked when she has classes and she said they’re filled. Then said look online. Then asked if they had open knitting, she said yes but they don’t answer any questions! Prices very expensive- $33.00 on up. I was truly turned off & will not return! It looks like a lot of people had the same kind of experience from the reviews posted! Who do they think they are? Elite knitting shop? I think not & I’ll continue to go to my other friendly knitting shops!! From,...
