Awesome natural rock formations, nice from the observation area, even better from the lower viewpoint. You can go down to either side of the "bridge" seen from the observation area, but the more picturesque view goes down from the right side of the parking lot. Note that this is all off-trail, and signed that people have died falling off the edge. We found the use trail to be well worn, very steep, and fairly slippery. Can't imagine how treacherous it would be in wet conditions. The last part is the most dangerous, a fairly narrow ridge on slippery dirt and then a downclimb on a steep rock outcropping with a drop off over the edge of the cliff. Easier with sturdy boots, don't try this in sandals, or in wet conditions! Beautiful payoff from the lower viewpoint, much better than from above! We did not attempt to cross the bridge, there is a hump at one end with an even sketchier downclimb and dropoffs. Perfect spot to...
Read moreI'm a beginner hiker and by far this is the best view and most daring endpoint I've come across when hiking down to the left side of the bridge. I saw one man climb over the ledge to cross the bridge with muddy sneakers but I would not recommend climbing it at all unless you have hiking equipment and a group with you. It's a very risky cliff. It's maybe for advanced hikers but any misstep can carry you down to the bay. The view from up to us spectacular but even more so when hiking diem to one end of the bridge. If you take the man made bridge from the parking lot and follow the trail, go down the thin trail to the right that goes through shrubs and will take you down to the natural bridge. Climbing back up is easier due to roots you can hold on to. The wider and steeper trail going down is more intense and harder to...
Read moreGorgeous Oregon site! Definitely worth stopping if you’re in the area, or even driving to. Parking can be limited, so I would recommend going in the early afternoon when it’s not too busy but the fog has burned off.
At the main sign in the parking lot, you can either turn left or right. The left trail leads to the main viewing point, which is easily accessible, and to another trail which is steep and perilous. Some hikers go take photos along that trail.
I would recommend heading right, which breaks off into two trails; keep right and don’t go in the trail with the danger sign. Continue down the trail and it will then divide into and up and down section; take the lower trail and it will lead you to gorgeous and generally safer views. Be sensible, and don’t walk on the ridge when it’s windy, and you...
