The Brookwood Community — Local services in Brookshire

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Brookwood. Every thing was amazing, professional, and simple. I was initially worried about how casual it looked, but the cafe looked completely different on our wedding day! The staff dimmed the lights and the room looked very romantic with the candles we had as center pieces. They have full length table cloths, but our flower decorator started setting up before Brookwood put the long table cloths on. Our pictures were beautiful, especially with the stained glass in the chapel. The food was the BEST, our tasting was the most enjoyable part of wedding planning! We had a lot of food and even had a lot of leftovers. The food is included at Brookwood, so we didn't have to do additional planning. We had alcohol, but a few people told me the actually preferred Brookwoods Apple Mint Tea- highly recommend trying it! I was initially worried about the small size of the dance floor. Turns out, it was the perfect size! We had about 130 people at the wedding, and the small dance floor meant everyone was in close proximity, which made our reception pictures look fantastic! I will go out of my way to bring people to this gorgeous place. In addition to the cafe (worth it on its own) there's a beautiful garden area and greenhouse, and a large store, with a huge variety of items, from homewares and decorative items made by the Brookwood residents, to hats and clothing, to garden items and gourmet food, and more. I've eaten in the cafe many times and enjoyed it each time, but one visit should be singled out for special mention. I arrived about half an hour before closing, having not checked the hours, with guests from out of town. Even though the kitchen had closed, the staff went out of their way to find us a place to sit, and help us find items on the menu that we could still order. This community is one of a kind and a truly amazing place. The Streit family has created a purposeful place to grow and foster each of their citizens into well rounded individuals. The amount of passion each citizen and employee has in their work in incredible and a sight to see. Their farm is equally as beautiful and highly functional, teaching valuable and complex skills that also provide to their own community and the surrounding communities.
