Dollar General — Local services in Brooksville

For the first couple of years this store was open it was great!! It was clean, well stocked, the staff was nice and things were priced correctly. Now (Dec 2022) it is one of the worst DG's in the area. Don't bother paying attention to the price on the shelf, bc you will be paying significantly more at the register. Also, don't bother grabbing a cart when you walk through the door, bc the store is such a mess that you can't push the cart down the isles. It's really hard to find what you are looking for bc things are either out of stock or messy, you literally have to dig to search for things. Oh, and the fresh produce section is almost always empty. At this point the store is just wasting money running the coolers for no reason. It's a shame that this store has gone downhill so much. It was really convenient to have this store so close to home. But due to the condition of the store, I would rather drive to Tecumseh to get what I need at Family Dollar. The only positive I have to say about this location is that the staff is relatively nice. I can imagine part of the problem is that they are short handed and can't handle all the tasks they are given.. AND they probably don't get paid enough to care. Either way, I find it hard to spend my money there...

First impression was this is a nice very organized dollar general store. When I was finishing up my visit I was astonished at how nice the young girl working was and that she made an effort to make small talk with me but as I was thinking to myself that this is why I like stores like this compared to big ones like Walmart who don’t care to know you the older worker came up and scolded the young worker in front of me and another customer and then told her that she was going to go over her checking scores with her. The young worker was shocked and even commented that she didn’t know they scored her on her checking speed. My boyfriend arrived at 9:55pm to get melatonin only to find doors locked. There were other customers in the store and so my boyfriend knocked on the door. The clerk came to the door telling him that the store was closed, he showed her that it was not you at 10 o’clock. Her response was to walk away from the doors and turn off all the lights outside as well as half the lights inside the store while other customers were...
