Bryan Animal Center — Local services in Bryan

I was really hoping I was gonna give this place a good review, and it seemed like I was until noon today (2/6/2025). Me and my roommates met a very sweet and pretty cat named Lindt at the animal center two days ago. After filling out the application we actually got to meet her outside of her crate. She was extremely sweet and cuddly. All we had to do was get our current cat an updated rabies shot which we did later that day and emailed the shelter the information. They said they’d hold Lindt for us until we did that. Now today me and two of my roommates were on the way to the shelter when they called us and said that we wouldn’t be able to take Lindt because of some “testing” they did in which they determined that she wouldn’t be a great fit with other cats. This was pretty upsetting because I was really excited and had bought toys and another litterbox and a new feeder that could feed two cats. I find it hard to believe that Lindt wouldn’t be able to live with another cat in an actual home and not a stressful metal box that they keep the cats in. I am also upset that they only cared to find this out after we had met her and after we told them that we wanted her. I really wanted to prove to the other negative reviews that the Bryan animal shelter was a competent city service, but I cannot do that. Do not even attempt to adopt here. They will...

I spoke to a girl named Ashley who is supposedly the “supervisor” because I had to call back on the unprofessionalism they gave during the application process. They ask you a series of questions, and questions about any current dogs that you have which asked for my dogs animal clinic she goes to. The girl before her called that clinic and asked for the microchip information on my dog and called the number on it which is an old number I haven’t had since 2020. The person that has my old number has my new number as well because I had to call it a year ago to get a code that was sent to it. So the person that has my old number called me screaming and harassing me because Bryan Animal Center was calling my old number, which isn’t the number I put on my application. I didn’t even remember my old number until the person that has it called me yelling at me. So when I brought this up to the “supervisor” Ashley, she called me a liar and said I put my old number on my application. How could I have done that if I didn’t even remember it since it’s been so long? These people are scams and would now no longer trust getting any animals from them because they probably lie about any illnesses and behavioral issues which will cause people to adopt, then have to take them right back to a shelter because this one is clearly not truthful and...

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE . My cousin saw a man dump 2 baby kittens in a bucket at an Exxon on 3402 SH-21 E Bryan, TX 77808 United States We brought them there to give them a fighting chance and they did not accept these strays without PROOF OF DUMP. They even told me to return them back to where they were?! You want me to dump them back there ?! That ILLEGAL Are you kidding me?! No where on the policies does it state we need proof of them being dumped just so they can take them in?!. I foster and help lots of animals and I’ve NEVER had to “prove” that a helpless animal was dumped. We asked them for food since we had called animal control and we were parked out front waiting for them we figured the babies were hungry . Mind you the animal control knew our names , and plate number. After they ate we took them to the grass so they can potty since we had no other supplies and the receptionist comes out yelling to us bloody murder thinking after asking for help and waiting on animal control that we were just gonna dump them there ?! Girl please yes I yelled back and yes I put her in her place . Super unprofessional. If you hate your job then don’t work in animal care. Horrible experience horrible clinic .
