Absolutely terrible experience. I will say, the course looks beautiful but the staff are the most unprofessional and rude people I've met in a long time. I went as a spectator for my daughter's high school golf match today. Something I have done at countless other courses. As an example, at a recent match at Coldwater golf course, I was cheerfully met by the gentleman in the clubhouse and had zero trouble renting a cart. He was pleasant and actually said it's wonderful that parents want to come out and support. Back to Sundance, I couldn't find help at the golf clubhouse so I went into the rec center and the attendant behind the desk there was clueless and had no desire to try and help answer my question. I went back down to the golf area and I could see a gentleman in the office, he even looked at me and quickly turned around. I knocked on a door right next to his office and he ignored me. So I called the number online and all they had available was a voicemail. I left a message hoping somebody would answer it quickly. Someone did and came down. Both gentlemen then answered the door together. When I told them what I was there for, and also addressed the gentleman for ignoring me. One of them said I wasn't there for "his" match, though he admitted that it was exactly the match I was asking about. Then he said well I don't give carts to spectators. I said that's fine, I don't expect you to give me one, I expect to pay for it. The other one said, that the course was closed. I told them I understood the course was closed to the public but that they had a high school golf match happening as we speak. I was told that I didn't belong there. Policies are policies and I can respect that but treating people with decency and kindness isn't too much to ask. Possibly, Mr Gentleman #2 could have said something to the effect of, Ma'am I'm really sorry but our policy doesn't allow for us to offer carts to spectators, I sincerely apologize that we didn't share this information with your coach before you made the journey out here to support your player. I wish the best of luck to them out there today. Basic...

Read moreBefore I review the Sundance Golf Course it is necessary that people know that the restaurant (Crooked Putter) is not run by the golf course. It is independently operated and downgrading the golf course because of the Crooked Putter is not a fair evaluation of the course. I find the course to be challenging and fun. Elevated & undulating greens are the normal and fairways lined with desert rather than grass. Desert crossings, split fairways, and two water holes is what you will find. This is not a resort course that has grass mostly all over. This course requires thought about where you want to place each shot. The greens are usually excellent as well as the fairways. The grounds keeping crew are excellent, they work hard and are friendly. Today we played our round in less than 4 hours (a foursome). You will not find a better value for the price in the West Valley. Perhaps even in the Phoenix metro area. Come out give it a try, and then try it again. ...
