All staff were extremely friendly, from the woman who greeted us, the man driving the tractor, the young boys shaking and baling the trees singing Christmas carols and offering high fives to kids. We went the day after Thanksgiving first thing in the morning. There was not a single tree in the field that was decent. We spent an hour walking through the whole farm trying to find one decent one. I couldn’t stomach spending $85 on a sparse Charlie Brown looking tree with barely any needles and huge gaps. We settled for a precut one, we couldn’t really see what it looked like because it had been tightly bound up and the stems didn’t fall yet. We spent $100 on it and got home and it was just like the ones in the field. Huge gaps and awful. We are calling it our Charlie Brown Christmas with our sad looking tree and just choosing to laugh about it but sadly I don’t think we can afford to go back to spend money on trees that I’m sure they know don’t look good. Maybe they should lower the price a bit on the ones that they know have needle issues and don’t look good. I was told by someone else that the good ones get tagged months before. You live...
Read moreMy family has been cutting our own trees for over 30 years. When the farm we previously patronised all but shut down, we were in the market for a new place.
This year we did some research and we're excited to visit Candle Tree Farm. The place was exactly what we were looking for! The selection was amazing and the fields we're tended too and weren't over run with Jagger bushes. Their trees were well taken care of too.
After cutting our tree, the tractors will haul your tree back to be bailed and shook. Prices range from $35 for the much less desirable scotch and white pine. Half the Firs and the blue spruce are $45 and the rest of the firs are $49. They clearly lable the areas that are which and also have lineup of the trees at the farm to show you which tree is which.
And after all that, you can enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee in the barn, or purchase any of the crafts and wreaths.
Overall an excellent experience that my family and I will continue...
Read moreWe were having a positive experience until the tree fell off the top of our car traveling 65 miles an hour on I70 east. We were barely on the road for 5 mins before that tree fell off. Yes a worker at the candle tree farm helped us tie it down. And yes she did a horrible job. I am sorry that I got a little emotional on the phone talking to the manger. Please understand that the mistake from your worker jeopardize my whole family’s safety and the safety of all the cars traveling with us when the incident happened. We had a toddler in the car and had to pull over on a busy highway. My husband had to get out of the car, walked against traffic to retrieve that beat up tree so it didn’t cause more dangers to the traffic. As we tucked the tree back in the car, we saw another car pulled over to secure their tree. If you can imagine the scenario, you would understand my anger, horror and disappointment. This is our second year coming to Candle and this will be...
