Hill Country Memorial Gardens — Local services in Bulverde

My family and I had been through so much and the last thing we thought we’d ever have to do is pick out my sisters burial site; we had gone to a cemetery that all they seemed to care about was price and making sure we picked them. My family left feeling worse than ever; the funeral home told us about Hill Country Memorial Cemetery and immediately when we arrived we were greeted by the owner and he had been working in the cemetery so he apologized for his appearance. He informed us usually his wife greets us, but she was absent that day. He showed us around and we instantly knew this was the best place to bury my sister. They cared about my family and didn’t treat us like another dollar sign.

Like other reviews I too had an encounter with a groundskeeper, however he was very pleasant. I went to visit my sister one day and just stood there staring at her grave crying and lost. He came up to me, stood next to me, and apologized for my loss and let me just tell him about her and cry. He let me take my time, and informed me I was parked where I wasn’t supposed to, but let me take my time before I moved my vehicle.

Unbelievable how horrible this experience has been. They LOST MY FATHER-IN-LAW. We paid to have the headstone installed and were told it would be done in a couple of days and we could come back to see it. Then was told to come back next week. ONE MONTH LATER, still not installed. Showed up in person to be told we are not sure where the grave site is. The owner asked my wife where it was, as if it was her job to know. The owner asked why we didn’t remember because they didn’t have the paperwork. After a couple of days, they fined the grave and installed the headstone. We were promised a refund that never came. Every call has been ignored, as well as every text message. No one should trust the owner to keep his word on anything. I will update this post if the refund ever comes doubtful. If I could give this Cemetery 0 stars I would. EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF...they don’t truly care about the families they are serving. They only go by what they wanna do and if you don’t comply then “you’re not welcome back here” according to them! ILLEGAL!!! I definitely do not recommend this cemetery to anyone..RUDE AS CAN BE...had to file assault charges on the owner today! I’m truly disgusted and mentally anguished by the way he treated my co-worker AND I today. He is unstable and I urge everyone to not take their loved ones here. He doesn’t have an ounce of compassion in his body and I don’t know what a person like that is doing in the funeral business. STAY AWAY IF YOU DONT WANNA BE HELD AGAINST YOUR WILL...
