On June 11, I called 2 Peas in a Pod Pet Care and spoke with the owner, James, on the phone. He seemed super friendly, professional and accommodating! I explained to him that I would be spending my summer in Michigan and needed pet care over 4th of July weekend. He had availability so went ahead and booked my dog for the requested dates I needed (July 2-5). He then offered me a 1-hour trial once I got to Michigan to make sure it would be a good fit for my dog. Sounded so wonderful so I agreed to the trial! Well today, June 28, I reached back out to 2 Peas in a Pod Pet Care to coordinate a time for the 1-hour trial (now that I’m finally in Michigan) and I’m shocked by the responses I got back from 2 Peas in a Pod Pet Care. It has been brought to my attention that James poorly planned his time management and is overwhelmed by the amount of dogs he agreed to care for this week. He made excuses for his poor planning, and he encouraged me to look somewhere else for pet care through the dates I’m confirmed for. 2 Peas in a Pod Pet Care is extremely unreliable, this is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I’m glad however I know ahead of the unprofessionalism. I would not want my dog in the hands of someone who so poorly plans, goes back on their word and does not know their limits. He obviously can’t provide exceptional pet care, if he overwhelms himself in this way. I do not recommend this...
Read moreI have two rescue pups from previous abusive situations, and they can be very challenging for anyone but our family to handle. I have boarded them once, and one of them refused to allow anyone to take her outside to use the restroom; she just growled from the couch in her pen. It had been several years of never boarding them because of this, but we took a chance with Two Peas In a Pod and the experience blew our minds! They have a full home for the dogs to roam about, space outside for them, and they took the first couple of days really giving my most anxious dog lots of space and love until she got comfortable with them. Their communication was good, their prices were extremely reasonable, and they were very, very flexible with our schedule. We were road tripping, so we couldn't stick to a solid time to pick them up and they were polite and accommodating. I picked up two very happy ladies after driving back from Texas, and the comments from James made me realize that he took the time to really get to know my dogs and handle them with caution and care. They really have the feel of a personal pet sitting experience rather than a boarding kennel or service.
We will definitely be using Two Peas In A Pod again, more frequently, and I can't recommend them enough to anyone that is looking for pet care while...
Read moreI boarded my cat with 2 peas in a pod. She is diabetic, so I was apprehensive letting someone else care for her for 3 days. They put me at ease telling me they have cared for diabetic cats before and that she would have the whole basement "apartment" to herself. When I dropped my cat off, the house appeared clean and quiet, though I didn't see the room she would be staying in, so I can't speak for that. She gave me multiple updates throughout each day; when my cat was fed, watered, given medicine, and even played with. She even uploaded pictures (as much as a timid cat would allow). When it came time to pick my cat up, I was having car troubles that kept making me push back the time I'd be picking her up. Not only were they flexible, they even offered to drop my cat off at home! My cat came home exactly as I dropped her off. She wasn't dirty, sick, no fleas, and seemed to have been well cared for. The only reason I said I would give 4.5 stars was that when she was dropped off, her insulin was room temperature. This makes me believe her insulin wasn't refrigerated during her stay, even though I told her it needed to be. Other than that, they did a great job and I would take her there to be boarded again! Edit: I have just been notified that her insulin was indeed refrigerated the entirety...
