Browns Lake Golf Course — Local services in Burlington

Located in Burlington Wisconsin, Browns Lake Golf Course is a great public course. While I have only golfed there once, the course was well kept up, and provided a nice challenge for golfers. There are two practice greens and one of them even had a bunker to practice those tough sand saves. The course is relatively shorter compared to your norm. However the smaller fairways and quick greens make up the difference for difficulty. There are two reasons I rate this course 3 stars. The first reason is because the course struggles to keep pace of play off the tee. We had a tee time for 11:20, and did not tee off until 11:45. Also, there were a few holes were two groups would be waiting for people to tee off. Part of this was due to a cart shortage, but still could have been avoided. The second reason was due to the spacing of the parking lot. The parking lot backs right up to the 9th green, and leaves your car open to being hit. I’m not one to ever leave a review but I had the absolute worse experience I have ever had on a golf course here.

The customer service was fantastic as we where checking in, but it went completely downhill from there.

We had back to back tee times as a group of 8. So we went out as 2 groups of 4, we where golfing 9 holes and completed in just under 2 hours. Apparently this is not fast enough for this course. We where harassed multiple times for our “pace of play” and I mean multiple. It completely ruined my experience and the fun Friday we had planned with our friends.

It was terrible. The bridge was closed. We had to unload our cart. Carry everything across the bridge, use an un sanitized cart to golf 3 holes, then unload again carry our clubs back across to reload our clubs. While our cart sat waiting for us to come back people through all there empty cans in our cart. It REALLY Sucked. I feel I should get tested for Covid.
