West Branch Susquehanna River — Local services in Burnside Township

This River has a very close place in my heart and place amongst the records of antiquity.. it was a foundation, and not to mention a pinnacle/crucial waterway system for the booming logging industry that once rang supreme in these parts of Pennsylvania touched by the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Not only a crucial piece of the logging industry/history of early america, but essential in traversing the wilds of Pennsylvania and make settlement in pre-colonial PA... Personally speaking on this subject/matter/river/place/thing.. I've grown up camping, hiking, fishing, and just being in, around, and amidst this beautiful river. It has the most beautifully natural landscape perspectives/views that are magazine worthy and legendary in nature/sight. The wilderness and lands that this river slithers/flows through is truly some of the last mystical, mythical, and truly wild/sacred places left on our Earth. Who new ground hogs love swimming, new one on me but this guy swam back and forth across the river several times. This river we go to very often, we fish , or just kayak up and down . There are usually a lot of boats cruising around but for the most part they don't run you over like some places I have been.fishing is usually good caught a few of everything, walleye, pike, lots of bass, small and large mouth . Boat loading area on the marina side on island always have people going in and out but there are 3 lanes so it goes quickly. The loading area for this side is stone and not as nice it also is more open to the current but still is not bad getting in and out you can use this one to avoid a lot of people at the marina. Such a beautiful river to come bring your boat and relax, fish or whatever you want to do! I come here with my girlfriend’s family and we come out and relax with blow up rafts and on the boat. So many things to do here. The marina is a really nice park with tons of trails. Watch out for the gas refill people cause they put gas in the waste compartment on my gf’s boat and the boat was completely ruined. I know some people who bring their own gas.
