Unfortunately I can't accurately rate this business because after sending an email a couple months in advance and filling out the lengthy website information requested (which is good), however you can't book until all the shots are actually updated (even if it's right before you need the dog watched). Submitted everything, asked for the tour, recieved reply they aren't doing tours in person at this time but can send me a link for online version, requested the video tour and watched the video, requested a daycare day (which is required prior to booking an overnight visit which is what I needed), received a reply that the time was booked. Sent an email to find out when would be available prior to the time that I need (which was the same day I received the tour link and the reply on no availability for the daycare day) and received a reply about the booking for the overnight care that I needed for 2 weeks that they aren't taking any new dogs at this time due to staffing. Not the best new customer service experience. Especially since it was very expensive in my opinion but was willing to pay around $768 for 15 days plus the daycare visit fee, just to have my special family member dog in what appears to be a wonderful facility with many amenities such as an indoor pool and an outdoor pool for dogs. However upon more investigation on their website everything they do with the dogs appears to be a separate fee for each day that they do anything with the dogs including a walk, a dip in the pool, feeding them treats, human playtime etc are all additional charges not included in the $768 approximately that I was going to pay. There are cheaper places that don't charge extra fees for these types of things however they are hard to find...
Read moreWe will never board our dogs with the Ultimutt Inn ever again. From our experience, our dogs were not taken care of properly and when I informed the facility on my dogs' health and conditions after pickup, they were rude and simply waved it off that everything is as expected. Nausea, vomiting, lethargy, food refusal, weight loss and a missing nail are all "normal" and "can and should be expected with a group play facility"!
We tried to warn other pet parents of their lack of concern on their Facebook review. Within days, another pet parent posted her bad experience with her 2 dogs also. That evening, the cordinator of the Ultimutt Inn disabled the review and messaging capability on their Facebook page.
Turned out, there was an intestinal flu that was going through their facility the week we boarded our dogs, and did we get a call to inform us of this new information? Nope.
We paid over $950 to board the 3 of our dogs for 7 nights. Our Bella and our Elmo had severe diarrhea and vomiting, they were lethargic and they refused food for 2 days. When we weighed Bella the day she got home, she had lost 9.2lbs during her stay at Ultimutt. We are assuming perhaps she was refusing her food while having those gastrointestinal problems during her stay. Our Tucker had one of his nails completely ripped out of his back paw. We can't even imagine the amount of pain he must've had. There was no way that the staff there didn't know of the missing nail unless he was not supervised or they did know of the injury and they just hoped that it would go unnoticed.
The Ultimutt Inn is NOT the "vacation paradise for pets". Beware of this boarding facility and their...
Read moreLast night I lost my dear bichon who was 16 years old.He attended the Ultimutt for years every day while I was working. He had chronic medical problems and was a wonderful dog but needed extra attention. The staff provided Jake with exceptional care and love. They nursed him through kidney stones, pancreatitis, severe anxiety, and joint problems. They provided detailed reports about his day and became part of my family, loving him the way I did. The facility is emaculate, the staff is energetic, kind, and caring. They were exceptionally accommodating to my schedule, and called me if they had any concerns. Without them, Jake would not have lived as long as he did. I am forever grateful for their commitment for making him feel secure and loved, and I will miss seeing them. When I realized he was severely ill, they offered to go with me to the vet to help me get through an emotionally difficult time. The Ultimutt is a special place, with a unique philosophy about making dogs feel loved and special. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for Sonja and her...
