Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Golf Course — Local services in Butte

I felt the need to write a review because of some bad reviews we saw that almost made us cancel our reservation and I feel they were a bit exaggerated.

We had a great experience.

The room had been updated but still needed some finishing touches. No big deal. The view was beautiful from the second floor near the fountain pond. The staff were friendly. The bartender in the lounge was great. The bartender girls at the pool bar were very nice. The slide was fun even for adults. They let my husband and I go together and it was great. The pools have the paint peeling look like most hot springs do. I’m sure it could use a little love, but it was not that bad.

One thing I didn’t really see people mention and it’s what I really didn’t like, was the fact that their water has chlorine in it. A lot. I’ve never been to a place with mineral water hot springs and have them add chlorine to it. They usually drain them nightly or weekly and clean the pools. Chlorine kind of defeats the purpose and ruins the natural benefits of the water. This is a big deal to me. I wouldn’t choose this resort again for the mineral water, but I’d come back and bring my kids for the environment. We plan to...

We were treated very disrespectfully by the staff here. Our day began with the golf “pro” not understanding that we had a couple people not arrive for our tee time that we had already paid for and that we would need some of our money refunded, and blame us for being “confusing.” Our day ended with that same “pro” yelling expletives at us on two separate occasions. Spend your money elsewhere, and improve your golfing experience by playing literally anywhere else. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The worst $40 ribeye steak I’ve ever had in my life - restaurant felt like a morgue. Frigid customer service. Our server was a curmudgeon. The lodge reminds me of the shining.
