We own an RV Park by the Petrified Forest in AZ. We wanted a break so we spent a week driving the Pacific Coast Highway from LA up to Point Arena in one of our campers for fun. We stayed at an awesome RV resort called Morro Dunes in Morro Bay. We saw the seals. Ate $100 in seafood at the Santa Cruz Pier. We fished in San Francisco and caught a killer striped bass and so much more. We were going to head home from San Francisco but saw a dot on the map indicating a casino and got excited. We hadn't seen a casino during the whole trip. Weve visited casinos all over this country from Atlantic city to Boloxi to Vegas. We decided to drive up in the middle of the night and gamble some before heading home. We had zero problems on our entire trip until this bit. We trekked hours up to this casino and arrived about 2am. We realized the casino closes at 11pm (who does that). We checked in with a night guard who made us fill out a liability waiver. The first security guy was awesome. He asked where we were from and we told him AZ, he mentioned he'd visited Flagstaff before and we told him we owned and ran an RV Park near there. Had a small conversation and he told us the casino opened at 2pm and we said we'd wait so we could gamble and eat before heading out. When that guard left in the morning he literally waved and said goodbye to us. Queue the next shift security officer. Gonzales. Gonzales immediately marched over and told us we had to leave because we never checked in. We told him we did and he said we couldn't clean our camper there. We weren't cleaning it out. My husband had picked up inside our camper and carried the bag out to pick up trash in their parking lot (Heineken bottles and caps) before Gonzales showed up. My husband was bored waiting for them to open and he's a clean freak. Sincere gesture. Gonzales was Polar opposite from the overnight guard and treated us like complete garbage. He yelled we didn't pay for the spot. He yelled his tribe owned the casino and he told us to leave. We dry camped 6 hours waiting to spend OUR MONEY at this business and we were told to leave at 8:45am and accused of not checking in when we absolutely did and even cleared it the night before. I have traveled for 16 years and no business has ever treated me this way. We didn't NEED a free space we chose to head to this casino to have fun not realizing until we got there that they close early and don't open until the afternoon. Soooo...what did we do? Headed out to a nearby casino that appreciated our business. We travel a LOT, will never consider this place again and will urge others to avoid this dot on the map as well. After only seeing 1 other camper in the parking lot with us, I know why.. these people are jerks. Spend your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the most incredible experience at Garcia River Casino in Point Arena! The friendliness of the workers there is absolutely heartwarming. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The service is top-notch, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
The cleanliness of the club is remarkable, and it adds to the overall positive atmosphere of the casino. It's clear that they take great pride in maintaining a spotless environment for their patrons.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the security guards. They are not only professional but incredibly kind as well. Their presence adds to the feeling of safety and comfort, making the entire casino experience even more enjoyable.
The food at this casino is also incredible. I had the half-pound burger with Swiss cheese, and it was as good a burger as I've had in any steak house! When my food was ready, the cook himself brought my food out to me. Outstanding food and outstanding service.
Garcia River Casino in Point Arena truly knows how to create a fantastic atmosphere, and I can't wait to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuper friendly and welcoming staff Clean restrooms! Plus plus plus! The bar has great beer options and prices are super reasonable! The grill has a nice dining area with self serve soda and coffee fountain. The food is super affordable, great portions, and filling. We got salads for our sides and I was impressed with how fresh and dank it was.
My husband and I boondocked in their parking lot and felt perfectly safe and comfortable. We made sure to go in and sign a liability waiver and we were set for the night. There were plenty of spots to set up our camper. The lights in the parking lot stay lit 24/7 so it was brighter than weād like but honestly, thereās nothing to complain about! We loved how secluded thus place was after 11pm when they closed. We heard coyotes at dusk and woke up to ravens, a great blue heron, and cows across the field from the parking lot. It was absolutely wonderful!
Just remember to leave no trace and donāt litter in the...
