I had to return both my featherweights today to have them re looked at. The tension on both were off. I had just picked them up less than a week ago, went to Cape Cod and tried them upon arrival. Both had issues with the tension (the reason I brought them both in originally). But I want to say that today bringing them back in I had a totally different experience. Andy looked at both while I was there and retried them. He told me what I had been doing (and have been doing for over 50 years) was not accurate (although I never had any issue this way). But the stitching on both seems to be good now. I was also treated very well by he and the same woman who waited on me previously; today she was very polite. They did know who I was and that I had written this review below, as they mentioned it to me, but today was a much better experience. So maybe they were just having a bad day prior.
I will post here when I try the machines and see how they are performing. I really do not wish to go back again right now as it is 20 miles each way out of my way, but hopefully I will not need to. But if both machines are fixed I will go back in the future if this is corrected and wanted to post my experience today, as it was totally different than the first time and God willing all is resolved.
sI dropped off 2 "featheweight" sewing machines of my moither's for tune ups. Have never come here prior. Always serviced at Singer. They said the bill would be 119.99 a piece X 2, and gave me invoices accordingly. Which is shocking enough. When I went to pick up they charged an additional $15.53 per each small lightbulb that one could have purchased at Walmart for $1.00 a piece. My fault. When they asked when writing out the invoice I agreed to have the lightbulbs changed. However when they printed out the invoice the total was 119.99 per machine, which clearly I thought included "the lightbulb". But that is not the only thing. The woman waiting on me, I was the only one in the store at the time, was "unpleasant" to say the least and to be qujite frank, rude. No thank you nor help at checkout and the final bill for both machines came to $284.62. Highwaty robbery, not to mention being treated with ill manner and ZERO customer service. I understand there are few places to take one's sewing machines to anymore for service and clearly they are "taking full advantage" of this.So would anyone know of another repair place or person who does repairs or tuneups would appreciate a response. I choose to work with businesses who treat customers with respect and are appreciative of the business one brings, not with those who deal in avarice. This review does not even deserve a ONE STAR. Anyone who goes into this place "of. business" will know exactly whom I am referring to if you go in first thing on...
Read moreSpent $115 for nothing. Just starting out after receiving a hand-me-down machine from family. Even with my brand-new knowledge of the machine, even I was able to determine the very specific issue I was having. Brought it in to be looked at/ seek advice from professionals. Right off the bat, the older woman who approached me barely asked what the issue was before she was already trying to sell me on a new machine. Once I insisted I wanted to make sure my machine wasn’t salvageable (which I knew it was) before we went down that road. She did NOT seem pleased by this, and continued to be very abrasive during the rest of the interaction.
Came back to pick up, which was rather fast. I am, however, still having the exact same issue. Meaning whoever looked over my machine didn’t even really take a good enough look and proceeded to clean the machine and charge me for it.
To the owners: Google is free—your store is a dying breed so long as you don’t understand people can learn how to do your job in our free time. Now I have to fix the problem myself, which I’ve now learned how, no thanks to this company. Thought I was doing good supporting a local business but apparently you can’t even trust...
Read moreWas referred to Ann's fabrics by the sewing company who made my machine. The first visit Cheryl was ABSOLUTELY rude and ignorant just grabbed my machine and had one word answers to my questions. Upon returning to pick up my machine she was just as ignorant and rude! I was standing at the counter and she acted like she didn't see me, the place is small and behind the counter is smaller you would "feel" someone standing there. She never said be right with you or anything finally she got up and said "yes" I told her I am here to pick up my machine she went in the back brought to the table rang up the receipt and said "here you go!" I will never give Ann's fabrics another chance to disrespect me! CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES ARE NEEDED or...
