So first of all I am SOOOOOOOO HAPPY! I love everything about my hair and the overall experience at Jyl Craven! When you walk in you feel the amazing positive atmosphere, it's calm, professional and relaxing. The staff greet you, check you in w/out any delay. If you arrive early you can enjoy the awesome collection of unique jewelry, wallets, purses, and bags for all occasions. You can also browse through the endless L'OrƩal product line knowing you will never be disappointed. Now onto the skills and experience of the Jyl Craven staff. I'm a firm believer in continuing education. Although hair design, color and cutting is certainly well outside my area of expertise, I know how important keeping current in your craft is. As the Director of Education Mark Dotson is beyond a perfectionist. He is the epitome of excellence in his approach and delivery! He colors and cuts my hair, and makes sure I understand everything he does, and what I may need to strengthen and keep my hair healthy. Mark has a way of making sure that you are totally satisfied and your experience is the best - every time you come in. I"m beyond thankful for what he does. I want to also thank Nancy, who has always gone out of her way to make sure everything goes smoothly - from scheduling to coordinating. She is truly one of the kindest people I have been fortunate enough to know. I could go on about how pleased I am with every aspect of my Jyl Craven experience. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here several times and never had an issue until yesterday. Blake was my stylist. This is the second time Iāve had Blake. The first time she was friendly and professional. Yesterday she was not. She was rude and very unprofessional. She raised her voice at me several times and then when I went to show her a picture of the products that I used, since she asked to see them, she cut me off to work on someone else. She quickly put my color on and talked to me as if I were a child. At the end she had her and her assistant dry my hair at the same time. Jerking my head side to side. I wanted her to stop and just have one person do it but I was too afraid to speak up. When they were finished she looked at me and said take MY cape off and put it in MY chair when you leave. Then she turned and walked to the front. I am not sure what I did to her but that was very unprofessional. I will go back. I do like the salon. I will not use Blake again. I do not recommend her at all. After checking with several people that recommended the salon several spoke up and said they had her once and would never use her again. No one should ever walk out of a salon ready to cry. Especially when you just paid $180. Her assistant was really sweet. I will use her when she becomes a stylist. At that point one of the receptionist came over and asked what I was waiting for. I told her I had checked in at 11:55 and was waiting for my service. She walked over to the computer and then goes to the professionalās chair. The receptionist never came back to me. At 12:22, a young lady came and ask my name. I told her. She said, come with me and we will āchit chatā about your hair. I asked her if she was the professional that was going to cut my hair. She said no, she wasnāt. I then said that I had been waiting since 11:55 for a 12:00 appointment and it was now 12:26 and I had other things to do. It was apparent that the professional that was originally assigned to cut my hair was still with another client and it was going to be a while before getting to me. However, no one conveyed that to me. I left. I was called on my way home and told that I would have a complimentary haircut if I booked again. In a world where the client is charged if they donāt show or cancelled if they are 15 minutes late, I think this should be reciprocated by the business when they are 15 minutes late or cancel on the client. I do appreciate that they were willing to give me a complimentary cut. However, I had left work, on a schedule and ended up leaving without my service because of lack of respect to me...
