Great selection for tiles, at good prices. They had the best tiles for what we wanted, hands down. BUT I will say, one guy was really rude to us as we were hand-picking 12 pieces of larch wood to buy. He basically scolded us for trying to hand-pick our pieces, when it was obvious that everyone else had, too. Things were very picked over, so we went down to a fresher batch. I stood my ground and then he told us, "just don't leave me a mess." Which we weren't. We spent nearly $1700 in the store that day. It just left a bad taste in my mouth for weeks now, that he treated paying customers so crappy. Also, the store was 80 DEGREES and there was zero AC. that was rough. The first day, the employees were super nice. That day they were lazy and crappy...

Stopped by the HIW store in Carbondale IL. today 8/29/2017 to look at purchasing some kitchen cabinets. My wife and I brought our dachshund with us so she wouldn't have to stay in a hot car. The man working promptly informed us we would have to take the dog out of the store. When I asked why he just stated "liability" - no apology at all! I told him that Lowes. Home Depot and Menards have all allowed our dog in their stores! He just gave me a stupid look and turned away! I then told him I would go and spend my money in one of those stores! I will never spend another dime in the Carbondale HIW store...

This spot often offers nice items used in home repairs at a discounted price. They seem to be overly concerned with the way one wears their face mask as if covid is a death set in stone for those who enter. There is nearly always at least one sweet deal here. Now if the staff could match the consistency we could really build this business up.
