I went here as a 4th grader. The camp is awful, It’s been over five years but I still remember it vividly. (This is my experience on the overnight trip) First off, They don’t have water bottles for kids. You have to drink barley filtered lake water from the water fountains, it tasted disgusting. I know the point of 4H is nature, But at least give us clean water. If you didn’t bring 2+ of your own water bottles, you were gonna be dehydrated the whole stay. The staff were unprofessional, sat on their phones showing kids TikToks the whole time. Not to mention the staff barley watched you. The “play areas” are on concrete in a small fenced in place. Some kid in my class busted his knee open on the side of the wood for Gaga ball. 4 of them got hit hard in the face with a ball in the wooden box they had for the pit. The cabins and restrooms were even worse. The beds had little to no padding, it felt like sleeping on a thin gym matt with wood under it. The walls had splinters, When you went to the bathroom you bad to be careful about what stall you chose. If you chose the wrong one you’d be doing your businesses with a huge spider and 6 misquotes watching you. The showers had massive spiders under there, In some there were Black Widows. I don’t...
Read moreNorth Central will always be near and dear to my heart. Went as a camper from the ages of 8-13, then as a Junior Counselor from ages 14-17, and have now been able to attend the past 3 summers as an Adult Counselor with my son. That's right, 13 years of camping, and I'm not done yet! Seeing the campers build friendships, learn about responsibility and independence while having a blast doing activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, archery, cooking, crafts, taking nature walks, and more, is such a wonderful experience. North Central 4-H Camp is one of my favorite...
