Mickelson's Auto Body — Local services in Carlyle

During our Christmas travel from DC to Colorado, we hit a pothole—blowing a tire and denting the rim—leaving us completely stranded in Centralia, Illinois. We quickly learned that while finding a tire on short notice is easy, locating a rim is much harder (a lesson that taught us to always carry a full-sized spare for long road trips in the future). The local Firestone couldn’t assist us but highly recommended Mickelson’s Auto Body as our best chance at getting what we needed.

On the day before Christmas Eve, we felt hopeless, thinking nothing could be done and that we wouldn’t make it home for Christmas. But Mickelson’s Auto Body reassured us they could help secure a replacement part if one was available and worked tirelessly with us to make calls and track it down. Their confidence and support gave us much-needed peace of mind in an incredibly stressful situation. When a part was located in St. Louis, they generously lent us their shop car—for free—so we could retrieve it. Once we returned, they stayed late to install our new tire, also free of charge, asking only that we refill the shop car.

Thanks to their kindness, dedication, and generosity, we were back on the road and made it to Colorado in time for Christmas. I can’t recommend Mickelson’s Auto Body enough—they truly care about the people they serve.

UPDATE: I just wanted to add a brief update. Because I live 5 hours away from Mickelson's Auto Body I'm not in a position to return there if there's any other service needed from their initial repair. I mentioned to them just in passing that I felt there was a slight issue with the vehicle. They immediately sent me to a local shop and paid for the repair / adjustment. In my book that is more than five stars stars, that is 10 star treatment!

Original Review: If you live within 2 hours of Mickelson's Auto Body it is worth your time and worth the drive to have them work on your car. They are very thorough, conscientious, professional, and their work is excellent.

My wife and I were traveling to Kansas and we were about 5 hours from home halfway to our destination and 5 hours from home when we hit a coyote. The damage was so significant that we could not drive the car.

So I recently ran over a bobcat 😅 and my stepfather referred me to Michelson's Auto Body Shop for the repairs. I'm glad he did bc I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received. Wyatt, in particular, was an absolute gem to work with. Not only was he incredibly kind and courteous during all our interactions, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that my car was repaired to perfection.

Despite a minor hiccup with one of the parts arriving a few days late, Wyatt kept me informed every step of the way, ensuring that I knew exactly when to expect the completion of the repairs. His communication and transparency throughout the process were truly commendable and greatly appreciated....
