I have been attending this Church for several years, and while I may not agree with all of the homilies, I have generally had a good experience. However, a couple of weeks ago there was a message that was completely appalling. The deacon decided to go into a diatribe about the lies permeating all levels of the media and society. Unfortunately he was not referring to the disaster what used to be the Republican party, but instead about a woman's right to choose, and gender politics. Despite preaching that Christians should convince these people through love, there were still harsh undertones that these people are wrong and should be ashamed of what they have done. It’s been a very long time since we’ve been in a Catholic Church that was completely filled and teeming with children! What a testament to the parish and community at large. It was Gaudete Sunday and we felt there was much to rejoice about at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Upon leaving the Mass my wife commented she’d love to move to Carmel just to be part of such a vibrant faith community. Well done!
