This is a level 4 scramble. You get to the trail head by walking a little ways past the bathrooms at Barclay Lake trail and head on a old mining road, where the sharp ascent will be on the right next to a small stream. It is very hard and and steep with loose terrain so when it's wet you should be prepared for it. The trails aren't marked too well so keep an eye out for red tape and scored wood along the trail leading up to the ridge line.
