Update: In response to the reply claiming that there was attendance during the months in question, that is absolutely false! I had at least two months of not attending due to the significant nature of my domestic violence case as well as the loss of my family member!
Not to mention, I only attended the studio 4-5 times in total but they continued taking payments for several months which was in the $500 range due to the continued billing.
MOST UNSETTLING, THE OWNER RESPONSE STATED HER EXCUSES FOR CONTINUING TO TAKE PAYMENTS BUT NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED ALL THE MESSAGES THAT I LEFT FOR THE MANAGER WHO IS ALSO THE OWNER ??!!
I felt she reacted to my messages as if I did not deserve a response and this happened several times so that’s why this place left a bad impression on me.
Worse still, when I initially joined, I had to go through extended delays to get access to the second class due to the instructor not being able to even verify my membership. She actually left me in the lobby eventually returned then advised that she needs to call the owner to confirm that I actually have a membership. I acknowledge the owner later apologized for the extensive scrutiny that I endured before the instructor believed that I was a member, however the combination of everything left me feeling like the owner trivialized their shortcomings to shift blame to the customer when she CLEARLY knows she did not respond to a single one of my messages! Had she at least made an attempt to respond, I would not have felt nearly this upset about my overall experience! Which I am sure the owner knows but it is easier to twist the facts vs taking accountability.
Bottom line, I felt the vibe was way off since the day the instructor was shocked that I could even be a member and left me out in the lobby for a considerable amount of time trying to figure out if indeed I already paid despite my logging into my Navy Federal Credit Union online account to show proof of my paid membership along with my photo i.d.
Initial review….
I really wanted to like this place but deeply disappointed by how they kept charging my account while I was going through the family crisis of losing my 22 year old sister as well as an emotionally traumatic domestic violence case. I emailed and called but the manager who I believe is also the owner did not acknowledge my calls. After sending a follow up email, the owner said her policy forbids makeup classes.
While on many levels, I respect the business policy, as a near twenty year Nottingham business owner myself, out of commitment to my customers, I tend to consider extenuating circumstances when implementing policies. Hence why, I am disappointed with the rigidity but mostly the owner not...
Read moreI practiced yoga at home for 2 years and never had any interest in going to a studio to practice around other people until I experienced BreakAway Yoga. Now I can't imagine my life without BreakAway classes! They have fair prices & great deals to make it affordable to be a regular. The $35 for 30 days unlimited trial was a perfect way for me to explore all of their different classes & find my favorites. It allowed me to branch out and try new approaches to yoga without feeling like I had anything to lose!
BreakAway has something for everyone, whether you want to get sweaty & get your heartbeat up or get your chill on & relax & stretch it out. There are classes for feeling comfortable with familiar flows and poses and classes for breaking out of your comfort zone with new poses and approaches. Every teacher is friendly and welcoming and embraces the idea that your time in the studio is about YOU, not what anyone else thinks about how yoga should look or feel. I love the way they use music playlists to accompany the classes. My favorite classes are Yoga Sculpt, Buti Yoga, and BreakAway Flow, plus the rotating Fri-YAY Flow class that is often the perfect answer for the question of how to shake off...
Read moreI’m a new client to this studio and i wanted to take a few more classes before writing a review, but I just immediately love it. I’m always nervous to do any exercise classes, but this studio has been so inviting. The lobby area is very welcoming and they have oracle cards at the front, which I’m personally very into. The studio (at least during the classes I’ve taken) has dim lighting, which helps take away some of the self consciousness if you’re new to yoga practice. What I really love are the instructors. I’ve Taken classes with a couple of them, and they’ve all been open and accepting of everyone’s capabilities. They give you options and repeatedly emphasize that it’s your practice, so you get to choose what to do/what you’re capable of doing. I highly...
