Ho Hum RV Park. ZERO Stars
CAMPERS, BEWARE!!!
Beware, to those that wish to make future camping reservations at Ho Hum RV Park. If you wish to make early plans, no NOT use Ho Hum! We all have used this park before, but did not know, if you reserve and have some type of unavoidable emergency where you can not complete your trip, Ho Hum RV park will not refund or credit your account for a future trip. We planned and prepaid (as they require) for Thanksgiving Eve and Day. On our way our RV broke down. No way to tell why but we lost all acceleration except @ 15-20%. We called and immediately notified both Ho Hum and Coastline where we also had reservations. Coastline, without hesitation, let us know we would have a credit with one year to use the nights reserved. This is most customary. Ho Hum acknowledged the info but did not elaborate. Later we received an e-mail letting us know thereās a no refund policy. We protested but received no consideration. We called and spoke with a nice lady at the park and got the managers name and left a message. He didnāt return our call, we tried again after a few days and he did call. He was polite but firm. He said heād talk to the Corporate management and call us back again. He did, after a few days and said the policy is firm. Therefor this letter; Campers BEWARE!! If you plan ahead, as campers must, and then have an emergence or breakdown, you will lose your prepaid camping fee! Coastline will honor your prepaid fee in the event of an emergency or breakdown.
I canāt help but wonder; the manager said at the time we made our reservations, the park was full except for this one spot we reserved, did they re-rent it and receive a double fee???
As of mid December, we have resolved our issues with Ho Hum RV park. Weāve really enjoyed staying there in the past and were disappointed we had to go thru this to get fair treatment, but alas, the park owner got involved and resolved it to our satisfaction. We now have a park credit, and plan to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis park is excellent at doing what it tries to do. It provides a nice quiet place next to the water. If you pay the price for a waterfront space, you can open your front curtains every morning and have your coffee inside your rig, watching the sun rise over the bay. Staff is friendly, helpful, and they keep the place beautiful. Every space is raked before the next guest comes in. The restrooms are spotless and the laundry is nice. There is a small store in the office with essentials, cold drinks and ice cream. There is no swimming pool or playground other than the beach and the dock. It tends to attract like minded people who are looking for somewhere quiet and clean. Other guests are friendly and if you are so inclined there are plenty of people ready to chat. The Lanark store, one mile east, offers live and frozen bait, any kind of tackle and fishing supply you might need. For more serious grocery needs the town of Carrabelle is four miles to the west and offers a full grocery store, a couple of hardware stores, several gift shops, bars, restaurants and liquor stores. Probably not a good choice for children unless the kids are entertained with fishing, playing at the edge of the water and sitting around reading and talking. All lots have full hookups including cable TV connections. The park also provides excellent WiFi. The dock is licensed for fishing so that guests do not need a Florida fishing license as long as they are fishing from the dock. There are fish cleaning stations, bait cutting boards and water out on the dock. Fishing is variable but if you enjoy casting a line, out on a pier drinking a beverage of your choice and chatting with fellow fisherpersons, this is the place for you. Of the types of fish that can be caught the two best are the Spotted Sea Trout (Speckled Trout) and the Red Drum (Redfish). Both are highly regulated with narrow slot limits and penalties can be high. So, check and understand the regulations before you catch...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed at Ho-Hum RV Park from October 6 ā November 5, 2024. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who provided helpful information about the campground and our site.
We stayed in Site 30B, a beautiful beach-view site with full hook-ups, located right on the sand. It included a picnic table and was long enough to fit our 42ā 5th wheel and car comfortably. We did have to park our truck in the designated overflow area, as the sites are thoughtfully designed to preserve the stunning ocean views for all guests.
The park offers clean restrooms and showers, a laundry facility, a rec room, and a 250-foot fishing pier that quickly became one of our favorite spots. Itās the perfect place to take in the breathtaking sunsets, and there was no shortage of them during our stay. We also enjoyed plenty of peaceful nights stargazing and watching the local wildlife, we even saw dolphins a couple of times during our stay.
One of the most memorable moments of our stay was catching a glimpse of the northern aurora borealis, that were absolutely beautiful and such a rare experience to see in Florida!
For the early risers, thereās even a charming swing bench on the beach, perfect for enjoying the quiet serenity of sunrise over the water, while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Ho-Hum is pet-friendly and accepts package deliveries to the office, which was a great convenience during our month-long visit.
If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic, beachfront getaway where you can truly relax and take in natureās beauty, Ho-Hum RV Park is a wonderful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would...
