I booked a reservation through Airbnb for September and received a confirmation and contact messages from the host regarding my stay. Then a couple of weeks later I received a request from the host to reschedule my stay because they would be hosting a private event during the time we planned to be there. Because of preexisting obligations we were not able to reschedule to any of the dates they suggested, but they said they would provide a full refund if I wished. I asked for a refund and they then told me I had to contact Airbnb to cancel the reservation before they could issue me a refund. When I asked why they couldn’t take care of it they said it was because Airbnb would penalize them. Of course Airbnb should penalize them, they are canceling a confirmed guest reservation in favor of hosting a private retreat. They continued to try to bully me into canceling, saying it was the only way I could get my refund. I called Airbnb to complain and the customer service rep was able to issue my refund immediately and advised that the host should be the one canceling the reservation if they are the ones that can no longer accommodate the reservation. The place looks lovely and I was so excited to go, but what is the point of booking if your reservation can be canceled any time that a larger group wants to...

The Best Girls’ Trip Ever!

We stayed at El Mistico Ranch for a girls’ trip to celebrate one of my best friends’ birthdays (November 8, 2025), and it was honestly the best experience ever! It was just the three of us, and from the very beginning, everything was smooth and well-communicated. We paid for early check-in, which was absolutely worth it, it gave us extra time to settle in and fully enjoy the beautiful space. The team had amazing communication and made everything easy. We received all the check-in details and access codes by text ahead of time, which made arrival super convenient. The property itself is absolutely stunning! You can feel how much attention to detail went into every part of it. We love nature, and being there felt so grounding and peaceful, an incredible space to meditate, reflect, and connect with the earth. At night, we sat outside and were in awe of the stars, truly breathtaking, especially coming from Texas where you don’t often see skies that clear. The owner was on-site during our stay and was so kind, welcoming, and respectful, which made the experience even better. We booked directly through their website, and we’ll definitely be coming back. The owners are very abusive verbally. There was supposedly a “glitch” in the system and I received a cancellation notice of the Oso Tipi room I had paid for and received confirmation on. Plus the dates had been changed from the 26 to the 25th. He said he called me but I never received that call. He never bothered to send me a mother message stating that the glitch was adjusted and that our confirmation was back in. And then refused to send me a written message stating the room was not cancelled. He is very machista and doesn’t like women to show any signs of being strong. He wanted me to sound submissive in my conversation with him over the phone 📱 If you aré a woman I suggest you not support this owner, unless you like supporting men who like to hold power over women in a bad way. So sad that this is tolerated, I could hear his wife in the background saying “ we don’t want a bad review so we’re canceling your reservation”. Well sorry for you being with a man like that.
