I can’t say enough about the thought and craftsmanship that Ron puts into each JLS Custom Rods. I picked up my new rods from him on Saturday and quickly mounted a reel to my new jigging stick before I hit the flats on Sunday morning. The low weight and excellent balance were immediately apparent. What’s more impressive is the top quality components, most importantly the corrosion resistant Fuji guides, which Ron places precisely on the blank after taking careful measurements to ensure that the blank bends exactly the way it was designed. This ensures that my ultra-sensitive, high modulus rod will last a lifetime and provides extreme cast-ability.

At just 3.5oz, my rod, built on St. Croix’s SCIII blank, is extremely light and sensitive yet it pales in comparison to some of the higher end rods that JLS builds.
