Good for those that are nearby or just passing through, and it was much smaller than I expected, though not disappointing; I'll probably come back when the foliage is on the trees. I noticed someone was birding in the area with a nice zoom lens (pro grade,) and I did spot a really nice bird of prey (it might have been an owl as it had more fluff than usual, however I thought it was a type of hawk.) It should be noted that this land was owned by a family that used it to acquire fire wood for personal use, and much of the wood that is on the ground appears to have been sitting their for some time, allowing for a compost. It isn't what I would call nature unaffected by human intervention, though it is nature none the less. I've only been to Joppa Nature Preserve and would recommend that for those intending on a nature trail that's paved in concrete, however I did enjoy this one a bit more as it's more along what I was...

This was one of my favorite places to walk for the last 13 years, living in carrollton in and off. It was great for the littles because the trails aren't excessively long. (I didn't appreciate that one time some ehem wanted to argue with me about their dog not being leashed in a public park and rushing and jumping all over my 5 year old that was very small and very terrified of dogs and then suddenly was knocked to the ground by an overexcited untrained one).... that should be much more regulated here. It's a huge safety issue.

This place has open forks trails, several in the shade of the tree canopy, and several up against a stream. Very nice walk among nature that i was able to do two or three loops of each visit. Loved it. Sometimes they have events in the...

Here's the thing, before you go into the reserve, either get a map from the front or make sure you know the paths by looking at the website And downloading it onto your phone. And the reason for this is because you may not be able to connect to maps while you're inside of the reserve- which in my opinion is a good thing, means that you escape from the hustle and bustle of life. However, if you panicked like I did and that all discombobulated and I had to pee, you may feel like you made the biggest mistake in your life. But once I found my car and got my bearings, I'm so happy that I went. It is absolutely beautiful and if you love nature, you will absolutely...
