Nick's Creek Greenway — Local services in Carthage

A nice trail used for mountain biking, hiking, trail running, dog walking, nature viewing . You can park at the trail head on highway 22 or by the O’Neal school. You could also start at Reservoir Park and use the Forest Creek Access trail off of the Reservoir loop trail.

Nick's Creek trail is flat to rolling terrain through open areas and forest canopy. The trail becomes Forest Creek Trail as it heads south to Airport Road but is essentially the same trail. there is an interactive story trail adventure with winnie the pooh cutouts and a QR code you can scan to listen to a story. this trail is not crowded, and is a dog-friendly trail. this gets four stars because I took my mountain bike here (since there was a sign indicating it was also a bike trail), and I wouldnt consider this bike friendly. Nice walking, running, and biking trail that is very quiet and peaceful. Much less congestion than some of the other parts of the Southern Pines greenway. The path is packed gravel and sand but is flat and well maintained. The trails are well marked, only thing that is missing is mile markers!
