I want to acknowledge that the repair shop did manage to fix my grandpa's old projector, and for that, I am grateful. The product is now working, and I appreciate the effort that went into sourcing the parts and completing the repair.
However, my overall experience with this business was far from satisfactory. From the time I brought in the projector, I did not receive any updates or communication about the progress of the repair for over four years. I understand that finding parts for vintage equipment can be challenging, and the COVID-19 pandemic certainly caused delays. But not hearing anything about the status of the repair, whether the part was found or had arrived, or even an estimate of the cost, was very frustrating.
During the first several months, I tried calling for updates but only received the same response each time: "We need to order parts from China and it takes a bit of time." No estimates of how long it would take, just the same quote repeated again and again. At one point, when my grandpa was in hospice and close to passing, I attempted to retrieve the projector, unfixed, but found the shop closed during business hours. Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away soon after, and with life happening, the projector remained there.
I was especially disappointed to learn that the part may have come in earlier, but my grandpa's projector just sat on a shelf unnoticed. My grandpa, for whom I was fixing this projector, never got to see his old family films from his childhood on his dad's projector, which was the entire reason for this repair.
Additionally, the business did nearly nothing to compensate for the time and lack of communication. They did not seem to be apologetic at all and just had an indifferent attitude.

I've brought electronics here before, but this most likely will be the last time! I brought two stereos in for repair June 8, 2020. One was fixed in a couple months...the other I'm still waiting on...here it is the first week of 2021, and no call since Oct 2020. I had to call him! So, here's an update -- Today is Wed 2/1/23. I called Blackie yesterday and I 'TOLD' him I was coming to pick up my stereo tomorrow (today) whether it was done or not. He, of course, made up more lies and excuses as to why it wasn't done...keep in mind, my stereo was at his business since JUNE 2020! When I arrived and went in, there he was, asked what I needed and told him, very sternly, I was picking up my stereo. He asked if sometime called me...? I said "I talked to YOU yesterday, and YOU did not call me back, so here I am!" Long story long, I left there with my stereo -after checking make, model and serial number, and waiting for him to fumble around in his quite messy shop to find my stereo. Read moreFind a different place! I never leave reviews on businesses but felt compelled after my experience. First, these guys are unprofessional and rush you off the phone and in person. I dropped my tv off for them to look at and asked them if they needed the power supply and they said no. They told me they would look at it that day or the next morning and give me a call. Two days go by and I never received a call. I call them and they said they needed the power supply but never called to tell me that. Who knows how long it would have sat there if I didn’t call. I bring the power supply back and they said it would be that day or the next for them to look at and they would give me a call. Another two days go by and they don’t call. I call them and they said they didn’t get a chance to look at it so it sat over the weekend. I call back on Monday and they say something about parts taking a long time to arrive but would call me back that day to give me a definitive answer on what’s going on with the tv.
