The only option in town! Much better than India Fashion Xpress.
Had a wonderful experience with Shweta's store Omnama Fashions. Twice in the past two years I've needed Indian clothes, and as a Denver-area resident, there are very few options still as of 2019.
For my own wedding two years back, in researching clothing options in the area, my husband and I were looking for a place to recommend people to go and buy clothes for our festivities. We first went to India Fashion Xpress, where the store owner did not open on time (she arrived much later, after we walked around and called), and would not let us touch anything or try anything on.
I was forewarned by others about India Fashion Xpress and knew not to open or touch anything since I hear she charges you for any items you use. She had a changing room that was more of a storage closet, and the prices were shockingly high, especially given the quality. My husband and I ended up shopping in India for our ceremony outfits and recommended our family and friends to order online or shop out of state.
Sadly, my experience at India Fashion Xpress was so bad I gave up on looking in the area for places to buy Indian clothes. This year though, I had a sudden need arise for a family member's wedding on short notice, and I researched again and asked around with Indian friends for options. Others recommended Omnama, and I contact Shweta via her online form to set up an appointment. I wish I had discovered Omnama earlier!
I'm so glad I found Shweta - she was able to give us within an hour a response to my form inquiry, and she set up an appointment for the next evening. Her clothes are fairly priced and she has options of every variety / quality level.
I'm especially happy Shweta carries men's clothes. Many boutiques around the country focus or exclusively carry women's clothing in-stock, which I learned the hard way shopping for my own wedding. Shweta's store Omnama is run out of her home, and in the basement area there's a full changing room, and she lets you try everything on, take your time, and she offers help with alterations too.
Omnama is the only place in town to buy Indian clothes I know of. I'm so happy to be supporting a Denver-area business that helps the Indian-American community in Colorado like this - it's incredibly convenient to have options in town when shopping for special occasions.
Not all of us can move our work schedules around to shop out-of-state, buy online and deal with shipping/sizing, or have the luxury of shopping in India. Thanks again Shweta for all your...
Read moreI went to Omnama Fashions to get an alteration to a groomsman outfit (purchased directly from India) They mentioned that they couldn’t alter it, which is fine but I would need to purchase a new outfit.
I told them exactly when I needed it which she said would be easy to complete possibly could even get it early. 2-3 months. This worked perfectly because I would get it a few months in advance before I even need it. Incase I need to make alterations to it. I left the old outfit with her to match the color that I needed. She said text other you need anything in the meantime.
I would text to see where we’re at and wouldn’t get any responses. I called at the end of the first month, just to check status of the outfit, and it went straight to voicemail almost immediately. I gave it a few days called again voicemail. Again then voicemail. Finally on the forth attempt she answered and I asked the status she she said “give it a few more weeks” that’s fine. I just wanted an update. No eta though on when it should be completed.
I give it a few more weeks. Text before I call as I know she’s busy. No response call her and she said “just a few more weeks”. At this point I’m going to get it technically on time. But still new details or exact figures.
I call again after the few weeks and it was still not ready. It this point I’m concerned I’m not even getting the outfit. And I was just finessed out of $200.
She calls me a few weeks later say that she had it. So I drop everything to go pick it up. I get there and it’s not even the right color. We talk about it and I explain what’s it’s supposed to be another 2 weeks pass and it’s there but they don’t have my pants. She claims I never gave it to her but I did because I wanted her to match everything. She found a pair of white pants and just gave them to me I believe to get me out of her hair.
I’ll have a more traditional Indian weddings to go to but I’ll steer clear from working with Omnama ever again.
Terrible communication, phone doesn’t work or works when it wants. Not overly client friendly and seemingly over priced for what I got. This is why I give...
Read moreShweta and Omnama Fashions is a rare find! I recently got married in October and I couldn't travel to India to get my wedding clothes. I came across Shweta's website and she immediately got me in. I got two custom lehengas (blouse and skirt) for my wedding ceremony and reception- oh my goodness she did such an amazing job! She has a designer in India that she works with as well and the two of them together were able to bring my visions to life!
I knew I wanted a red outfit and during the process of picking and designing my wedding dress, she was able to give me many options in different price points and was very upfront with me in regards to cost and time to create the outfits. I was able to pick the fabric material, the design, and even the exact shade of red. During the entire process, there was lots of communication and even mockups on fabric to finalize the design prior to creating it on silk. Shweta's attention to detail and her desire to please her client is incomparable.
This process was very similar for my reception outfit. In fact, I went with a different designer originally for the reception outfit, which was a bad decision as they weren't able to get the color or the fit right. I came to Shweta less than 6 weeks from my wedding so upset with the original outfit and she was able to get my reception outfit remade in the right color and the perfect fit AND get it shipped from India right in time!
Plus! Her in store stock is great! She has her own boutique with lots of different styles of Indian outfits and if she doesn't have your size, she'll get it immediately for you. I took my friends and bridesmaids to her store and they all purchased outfits from her and I purchased another outfit to wear for my henna party.
I got so many compliments on all my wedding outfits and the fit and quality of them can't be beat! I was so spoiled throughout the process and I know I'll be going to Shweta for all my Indian clothes needs. Shweta is a wonderful and honest person and I can't recommend her highly enough for custom or for off the...
