I’ll start off by saying it was a great time and first ride for my son. The views were gorgeous and our guide was great.

My other thoughts:

We did a sunset ride and there were two groups that went out. We were the second group. Due to timing, the sunset was behind us to the left. We still had stunning views of the horizon and the gorgeous sky, but we were hoping to be able to watch the sunset. Unless you turned to look backward to the left, you could not watch the sun set so that was kind of a bummer. Had we have been in the first group, we would have been able to watch the sun set. We kept hoping we’d turn and hit a point where we would be able to see the sunset ahead of us, but as we turned and the sun finished setting, we were on the side of the mountain and our view was completely obstructed. Our timing was just off for this ride. Also, it was very slow walk. Had we have been moving a little bit quicker we may have been able to catch it.

On that note, I’m not familiar with other locations in AZ and obviously there is a level of safety and necessity to move slower due to the terrain. It’s definitely appropriate for inexperienced riders or those looking for a leisurely scenic ride. If you’re looking for a quicker pace or somewhere you trot around a bit, I would check out other options.

The only other thing I would add is that the corrals were so small and the horses are there 24/7. I’m not sure if they have anyone come take them off of the property and it seemed like the guides were passionate about horses and loved them, but it seems that they are there in this small space solely to do several rides a day and that kind of...

This is the place! If you want to experience the peace and serenity of riding horseback through mountains, then this is the place. This is a beautiful location with amazing views. It is a very positive experience to detox from the clutter and noise around us and hear the sound of your horse and a breeze through the mountains while enjoying the views. Whether you are an experienced rider like myself, or a beginner you will be treated with respect and care. Furthermore, the horses are treated with respect and great care. This is a genuine place with genuine people. Do you know how I can tell? The horses aren't a commodity, they are part of the experience. Your horse has a name, a personality and a story. You will learn about the horse that is carrying you through the ride. For example, my latest ride was on Jimmy. A very easy horse, well behaved and personable with which I established a connection. My guide was Fiona, she also was well behaved and personable and we established a connection. Both should be rewarded with treats! I have experience and am confident on a horse. I appreciate the opportunity to go to Cave Creek Trail Rides to be around the horses as I currently don't have the means and resources for my own. If you are a beginner or have never been on a horse, you can also have confidence because the staff and horses will take care of you every step of the way for an enjoyable...

Visiting Cave Creek was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Rebekah, the owner of this beautiful establishment had welcomed us to her horse farm for a sunset horseback ride. Walking into this place we didn’t really know what to expect because we haven’t been horseback riding before. We were greeted by nearly 50 unique horses and a big warm welcome from Rebekah and her team followed by the safety procedures needed for the sunset trail ride. The safety talk she gave us could have easily been boring, but she instead she turned this into a fun learning experience with a dash of horse humor. Jeremy was our guide, he made sure to greet us all, periodically check up on us (even our friends way in the back of the line of horses). He even got off of his horse mid-ride to re-adjust one of the riders’ saddle. As far as the beauty of the trail, nothing compares to the wide landscape of these mountains and hills in the distance with the sun setting behind them. This experience was purely blissful. Personally, I’ve never felt so free with the sun setting in the distance behind the mountain, with the reins in my hand, I feel like everyone should experience these views at least once in their life. This experience was absolutely phenomenal, we recommend this to anyone who wants to taste the life as a cowboy or cowgirl...
