I recently had the pleasure of traveling through Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), and I must say, it was a delightful experience! This charming little airport is the perfect example of how a smaller airport can provide big-time convenience and warmth. First off, I was immediately struck by how cute it is! The airport has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it feel less like a bustling transit hub and more like a welcoming community space. The design is modern yet friendly, with plenty of natural light and comfortable seating areas. Navigating through CAE is a breeze—everything is well-organized, and the smaller size means you can get from check-in to your gate in no time. I appreciate the lack of long security lines and crowds, which made my travel experience much more enjoyable. The amenities are great too! I found plenty of dining options and shopping, all while being surrounded by friendly staff who truly seemed to care about the travelers. Overall, Columbia Metropolitan Airport may be small, but it packs a punch with its charm and efficiency. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free travel experience. I’ll definitely be flying through CAE again! ✈️

Awesome, saw Trump fly in! Easy access and simple drive layout. Nice view of sunset.

Not to thrilled about TSA here. Always a wait for KCM for crews and they don't even acknowledge us for several minutes before coming over to check us in. Even with no one in the regular lines. Also on a rainy day like today there are cars lines up at the drop off point outside the check in counters and guess what? They are just sitting there! Not dropping or picking anyone up! Why is this not enforced? My crew and I got soaked because the hotel van had to drop us off in the second lane without any cover. People sitting in their car not giving a care in the world! If I need to say something positive...it is a beautiful airport and the airline staff are very friendly. Great Christmas decorations!

This is mostly about the TSA and the American Airlines people here.

First off TSA! Open up more than one line when you have a line that goes outside your area that you have roped off! Don't wait for a person with a wheelchair to open the second line. Also, Mr. OCD has to have every item placed in the spots he wants them not where you have them when you walk up to the x-ray machine.

That bring up another issue I was standing in line for over 30 mins and some person who did not need a wheelchair could walk without help got to jump to the head of the line why because she was in a wheelchair.

Next, let's talk about the American Airlines not so friendly personally that work there. Due to circumstances, I had arrived at the airport 6 hours early. I went up to the American Airlines counter and waited to talk to them about seeing if maybe I could get an earlier flight since there were two of them flying out before mine. So I waited at the counter as they loaded the other flight when it was all said and done the American Airlines person who looked right at me just walked away.

So had to wait until my flight and on my ticket, it said to go up and talk to the people to get my row assignment. I waited until there was someone at the boarding gate and went and showed her my ticket female snapped at me saying " Your just going to have to wait until the other person gets back to take care of that!" I tried to ask another question but was interrupted and told again "I said you're going to have to wait until the other person gets back!!"

Then there is the whole mask issue! Even though my neck gator covered CDC guidelines I was not able to wear it even after showing them the website that said it was ok! Then when I pointed out that masks that other people had on were not coved by CDC guidelines I was told that I was an annoyance and if I continue I would be removed.

I remember others in history who had the do as I tell you even If I'm the wrong mentality back in...

I fly for my work almost weekly. I flew about 120 flights last year. I am on track to fly over 130 flights this year. I want to use CAE because I am a resident of Columbia. I realize that TSA is a separate entity from the airport, but the local TSA is killing CAE. I fly in and out of airports in every single state in this country. Some are major airports like LAX and ATL, and some are really small. I would expect when I fly out of Mid continent in Wichita, KS where you fly into a wheat field and FSD in Sioux Falls, SD where you literally fly into a corn field to have inferior TSA service to CAE, but they are better!. In fact, all airports from Jacksonville, FL to Eugene, OR, and all in between have a better TSA than CAE. The issue is with Pre-check. CAE's Pre check is non existent! If this were normal across the country, wouldn't complain at all, but this is NOT normal! I have written TSA about this and I get a really lame answer from the head of TSA at CAE stating that its due to lack of traffic at CAE. But some of the airports that I fly out of have way less traffic, and some have half the gates that CAE has, and yet their pre check is always open! The last straw was this morning when I stood in a line that literally went all the way back to the entrance area where the baggage drop off is, pre check is NOT open and all the while there is a digital monitor flashing an advertisement saying that you can 'skip the wait with pre check!' I expect better from the airport that serves the capital of the state of South Carolina, than I would from a place like Falls City, SD where they only have something like 8 gates. But the fact is, I am not exaggerating when I say that CAE is the worst experience in the entire country, and it is the Columbia division of TSA's fault for making...

my flight was delayed due to a small drizzle that lasted approx. five mins or less . The drizzle stopped and we still weren't allowed to board for over and hour past our scheduled flight time . This resulted in my next flight being missed ! I called customer service to complain and I was rudely spoken to by the woman and she refused to give her name and then proceeded to yell . Meanwhile it became time to board the plane . So I'm arguing with this woman for her name while I'm waiting in line to board and then one of the DELTA reps ( African American woman with straggly bangs ) proceeds to grab my arm and try to forcably pull me from the line because she doesn't want the other passengers to hear about my mistreatment . I asked the woman to please remove her hands from my body because the force she was applying was causing me to lose my balance and I am 7 months pregnant so that could cause injury to me or my unborn child . She let go after giving me a shove and I could not get her name because I was actively boarding at that point . All of the ruckus caused me to become ill upon walking into the plane and I threw up from the nausea brought on by high levels of stress . I am actively trying to file complaints and police reports . I will just fly into charleston next time . This is the worst airport that I have...
