Please be wary of this lady and the business she runs. I had had baby foot/hand prints done of my three older children when I lived in California (see photo 1). I asked her if she could attempt to replicate them for my fourth baby. I told her I knew it wouldn’t be identical, but asked if she could create something similar. She said she could.
She sent me a photo of the finished product. I told her I was disappointed. See our text conversations attached for our entire conversation back and forth.
After conversing with her via text, we went to pick it up. My husband went in for me, because I knew she wasn’t happy with me. He went into the gate and I heard her raised voice. I missed the first part of the conversation (I was in my car), but I heard her say loudly, “Your wife is a coward!” At that point I had had enough. I went up to her as well. It was at that point she yelled at me and gave me a verbal beating (and with my four young children within earshot). She called me “entitled” because I came from California and didn’t appreciate her “hand made” item that wasn’t “machine made” (neither were my original handprints and they turned out beautiful!). She was so mean and nasty. I hurt her pride and she took it out on me. I was so grateful my husband was there and I didn’t go in on my own. Please be wary of coming to her business! Her business is in her home and I felt very unsafe. She clearly has a temper she can’t control.
I then went to another pottery studio. I showed them the handprints she made. They were appalled. They showed me imperfections I hadn’t even noticed (see attached photos). They said the clay itself was thin in some areas and thick in others. She painted parts of his print but not others, his toe print was smudged, the paint was smudged, it appeared she only used one coat of paint, not 3 (as they said you should do). There were other technical terms and issues with it that they described to me. It just solidified the fact that I was justified with being unhappy with her product.
I have never seen such unprofessional and unsafe behavior by business owner. Again, please be careful when going...
Read moreI’m going to be honest this will be kind of biased because I've known them for more than a year. I don’t only consider them to be my artistic mentors, but my family as well. They have helped me grow in ways that therapy never could. We have shared a table as we ate donuts together. I have learned so much and have definitely been inspired by them. They are my answered prayer. Dana and Greg have helped me gain patience and confidence. From making “meditating mugs” to making these amazing pitchers. It took a lot of time and effort. We laughed together and learned together. I came in prepared to master the details of pottery, but instead I came out realizing that you build yourself up from your past mistakes. What really matters is that you get back up. Especially when Greg is there to remind you that “It’s just dirt” and to learn from your mistake and move on. He will give you the tools you need. We have watched instructional videos, read magazines, and they have even let me borrow some pottery books that the library doesn’t have. Dana is a master at hand building so if you have any questions even with glazes they are always happy to share what they know. They are my family and I’m excited to continue to make them proud :) Thank you Dana,...
Read moreAfter trusting this woman with a 50+ year old Ceramic Tree made by my grandmother, my heart is breaking right now. My mother, who passed away last December, gave it to me to stay in the family. There was a cracked piece one a couple "limbs" and, after viewing ratings for this Half Moon, and speaking with the owner, she assured me that it was an easy fix and made me feel comfortable leaving it in her hands. After not hearing from her for 6 months I called and received voice mail, which I did not leave. Then, almost immediately, I receive a text asking for another week to "finish" the tree. She knew it was me and why I was calling. I gave her another almost 4 months and called back today. I was informed that she needed a "day or two" to find the base she "misplaced". So, I went to her shop to find her painting a new base. I asked to see the top, which was to be repaired, and she repeatedly declined, telling me to come back in a day or two! The fact is, she either did not do the work, lost or broke my tree or worse. I am on the way to the...
