Antique Acres — Local services in Cedar Falls

A great mix of steam, gasoline and diesel power. The grounds can be easily walked, carts can be rented or you can take a ride on a horse drawn trailer. I appreciated the working exhibits: blacksmithing, shingle making, a sawmill, threshing, binding and my favorite is when they turn some tractors loose to do some plowing. There always seems to be some antique tractor pulling going on throughout the day so you can stop and rest your legs. Only things I'd like to see added are restoration workshops so the old timers can pass their knowledge on to the next generation and an upgraded kids play space. Remembering, Ed and Ray Smolik, John Sundermier, Cliff Johnson, Hep Crowell, Andy Fishels, the great old-timers that started Antique Acres. We had so much fun back in those days, They are all gone, but not for-gotten. We had a great time buying and moving the steam engine from the What Cheer Iowa brick and tile plant, and installing it then building the museum over the engine. Iam soon 90. Bless...
