I'll preface my high rating with the fact that I am quite biased towards Cedar Valley. I learned how to play golf out at Cedar Valley with my Grandpa and Dad when I was 13, so I have a soft spot for this little gem.
As far as the actual course goes, there's a reason why this scenic course is never incredibly packed. The fairways' quality is highly dependent on how much rain they've gotten, so if you play in the winter or middle of the summer, expect to hit approach shots off of hardpan. The greens are usually in good shape, but can sometimes be a little slow with a few dead spots. I don't think I have ever seen a beverage cart on the course, and if you play the International course, the halfway house is almost always closed.
These courses are nothing fancy! However, with all of its flaws, I promise that Cedar Valley will still provide you an enjoyable and challenging round with your friends and family. You won't simply be playing a straight par 4 every hole. Each hole is a little different and will provide you with a new challenge every time you tee it up. If you don't hit it straight off the tee, you will be amongst the cedars all day long!
So if you want a quiet little place that's outside of OKC, I suggest giving Cedar Valley a try! The prices are affordable, staff is always friendly, pace of play is usually fast compared to OKC courses, and the course is generally in good shape...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot only was I disrespected, but I was hurt by the choice words of an elderly man who falsely claimed to be in charge. We paid good money for several golfers, late in the day, in which we were one of the three groups on multiple courses. We tried to reason with this man, yet he continually insulted us and tried to lead us to believe that he was the owner of the course. In addition to that, proclaimed that what we were told by the cashier was never said. We paid under the pretenses of a twilight gameplay in which we would play til 7. This was rudely interrupted by him physically stopping our carts and proclaiming that we were lying in addition to threatening to call the sheriff on us. Not only am I dissapointed by his course of action, I was hurt. I can assure you, your day of golf will be much better off at any other course. In addition to unfair treatment, the greens were dead and we overpaid for time allotted. This course is surely unattractive to say the least, not only due to the physical nature of it, but mostly due to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was not a good experience. (Augusta) The course is in very poor condition, fairways are all dead, finding grass is a challenge and saying there is no grass on the fairways is being modest. Tee boxes were in poor condition. It is an old and outdated facility overall from the markings and buildings and clubhouse to all on course markings and trash cans and water stations. The staff is very nice but even on this day when there was literally maybe one other group maybe two playing between both courses they didnāt bat an eye to charge $84.00 for two. It looks like it could be a great place with some care and upkeep but it will be a long time to make needed upgrades to bring the course worthy of a...
