Surprisingly good chicken sandwich, a great spot to get gas just off of Natchez Trace Parkway, AND they have live music on the weekends!

You're not gonna believe this! My review is based on my experience at this place back in the late '80's!!! We didn't even know about the Trace at that time. Lived in Murfreesboro for a few yrs. and found this little grocery store by chance out riding around. Didn't think I would ever find it again. Back then, lunch was a true home-cooked meal with limited seating inside, but then it wasn't as busy back then. I have never forgotten the experience or the food. LOVED IT!!! Lunch was set out on a very small buffet, self-serve. We had the BEST meatloaf I've ever had. Baked with slices of bacon across the top to add some smokey flavor. White beans with old-fashioned chow-chow relish on the side. Don't remember the rest. Just that I really loved it and hoped to one day pass by again for lunch. Sorry to hear that little lunch buffet is "history" now. Y'all should try cooking up a big pot of Great Northern Beans (white beans) and baking a big pan of cornbread and watch how fast it would go. People go nuts for that now, because very few housewives know how to cook dried beans now. (NO CANNED BEANS, PLEASE!) I may be moving back to the area, so when I stop in there, I'll be looking for that pot of beans, LOL. And I'll be wishing for that meatloaf. You know it had to be VERY GOOD for me to never have forgotten it. I've talked about it over the years as one of those rare lucky "finds" out in the countryside. Precious old general store near...

From your basic necessities to hot meals to excellent entertainment this hidden gem is worth the stop. On Saturday nights they bring in a wide array of talent ranging from hit songwriters to up & coming artists to the occasional legend! You won't be disappointed. You can get one of the best burgers(cooked to order) around while you take in the show. The staff is always super friendly. It's as down-home as it gets. Locals tend to pack the place on show nights so get there...
