We had a fantastic day on the river: morning kayaking with Genesis guiding us, then afternoon rafting with Dave. Gen gave clear and helpful instructions on approaching any rapids and was also a terrific guide to the trees, shrubs, and birds we were seeing -- much appreciated. We are passionate about the natural world and learned a lot from her. We were in solo boats and loved the chance to experience more whitewater than we had done before. They gave us a nice lunch at noon in a beautiful shady spot, and then we switched into the raft to go down the bigger rapids. In case you are nervous: we were anxious too, having never done such big rapids, but Dave is super safe and experienced, and it didn't feel terrifying at all once we were in them -- just truly thrilling. There's a strap to hold on to and a foot holder to keep you safely anchored to the boat. It helped that it was hot that day, so getting soaked felt great too :) Dave was very responsive when I initially phoned, answering all my questions, and he also sent a reminder text the night before. Honestly this was an amazing heck of a ride and I would recommend anyone to come by! We had Dave as our guide and we actually got a call the night before upgrading us from the half day to full day adventure and that was a pleasant surprise! The owners also have this super cute dog and let you pet him.

We took a bus from the park to the start of the river and it was really nice to end up where we parked since you float downstream.

We started off the day with kayaking on class 2 rapids which weren’t too strong but still tossed us around and definitely got us wet! After a nicely prepared lunch and some down time we got to experience the powerhouse and nugget falls which was so so fun and thrilling and Dave does a great job doing fun things like dip the front and back of the boat directly in the water. We also did this really fun thing called Rodeo where we tried to balance on the raft for 8 seconds as it spun around — spoiler alert I failed.

Could not recommend this place enough! I came with my uncle and boyfriend and we all had a blast. When I started googling places to raft along the Rogue River, I was initially hesitant about this company because they were substantially cheaper than other companies, but I saw that they were rated the highest, and were the closest to Medford. I could not be more happy about my decision! Great, calm, funny and interesting tour guides. The only thing I didn’t love was the professional pictures they took cost $50 which seemed a little steep for 20 pictures (about half of the pictures are far away or after you’ve come down the rapids so only about 10 action pictures) I personally thought that was really steep for only 10 good clearly me pictures but I opted to pay for them just because it was such a fun trip and I wanted the good pictures and the memories.
