I would like to start off this post by stating that during COVID-19, I taught myself how to coupon in an effort to help out the community. For anyone who coupons on a serious level, couponing is a SERIOUS TIME COMMITMENT. I average ~10-20+ hours/week PLANNING my couponing trips (e.g. watching YouTube videos, collecting paper coupons, cutting paper coupons, clipping digital coupons, printing free internet coupons, organizing coupon trips, checking rebate apps, matching up savings). Then there are the hours spent actually going out to shop. Again, I do this TO HELP OTHERS. It may surprise some of you to find out that stores pretty much detest couponers and I have had a number of experiences that illustrate this. One of those experiences occurred at this particular Dollar General and involved the current Store Manager (I do not now her name at this time). After spending 2 hours in this store collecting all of my items for my 5 transactions, I completed two of my transactions with no issues (Also, just so you know, I happily go to the back of the line to let others go in front of me so I don't hold up the line with all my transactions). On my third transaction something went wrong, so the new cashier (it was her first day...she was very kind and my issue was not with her) called for the manager. The store manager came up to assist, but apparently it was taking longer than she liked and she huffed and said, "I don't have all day to do this. Do you want to just start the transaction over?" I agreed to do that. Now, mind you, this woman is drunk on the power of being the Dollar General Store Manager and while I'm not a mind reader, I believe that she derived pleasure from what occurred next and had every intention of ruining my transaction. I had more than one of the Bic coupons for $1.50 off 2 Bic Stationary Items. These coupons state "Limit of 1 coupon per purchase." Now...I realize that this wording is very confusing and MANY people do not understand that a PURCHASE actually means ITEM, NOT TRANSACTION. I politely tried to explain this to her, but she cut me off and told me that I was wrong and she was not going to accept my coupons. As I said, I was dealing with an unkind individual and I had no intention of stooping to her classless level. I stated that was fine and that I would like the transaction cancelled and that I would not do either of my other two transactions either (because I would have the same coupon problem) and offered to put the items back. The Store Manager told me that wasn't necessary. It is always disheartening to have to deal with disrespectful people, but dealing with disrespectful, unintelligent people in positions of authority is the worst. I just have to take deep breaths and believe in karma in moments like this. So, shame on you, Dollar General Manager. Sadly, you are the kind of person who would read something like this and have something snarky and nasty to say about it instead of taking the time to do some seriously needed self-reflection to change...

I hope that Corporate reads this.. I don't normally post reviews, but I felt I had to with this incident. WANDA was beyond rude. 10:00AM on 4/7/18

I walked in to grab a Soda and went to where WANDA(the cashier) was standing behind the counter to pay. I stood there for a good 20sec before she addressed me. Then in anger she pointed to the sign that read, "register closed, see next cashier". I expected a laugh or some sort of kind remark, but she was looked at me with anger. I looked at the other register and no one was there. She eventually took my payment at the other register, but reluctantly. This ignorance needs to stop. Had she done this to an already angry customer-- she would have probably had bigger issues.

I am not tearing down the DOLLAR GENERAL. I think it is a great store that serves a purpose- but a business is only as good as the people who work there- WANDA is not...

So 6 days ago I purchased some items here. Like majority of Americans I’m struggling day to day living out of my friends car. So I decided, really I had no choice other than, to return items I recently bought. I’ve never experienced this level of rudeness and disrespect. I was told no, because he was busy, busy with his leg propped up on the counter while he flirted with some minors is busy I witnessed. General Dollar you can do better, or at least you’ve...
