Hinata Retreat — Local services in Charlemont

Our stay at the Hinata Retreat was truly unforgettable.

Having spent time previously in the area skiing, hiking, and zip-lining on the neighboring mountains, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this new establishment - but from the moment we arrived, the experience far exceeded my expectations.

The drive up the newly constructed driveway set the tone - it felt like the beginning of something special. Stepping into our cabin, we were immediately struck by how thoughtfully everything was designed. It truly felt like a secluded escape. The space was open and inviting, with a cozy sitting area, a well-equipped kitchenette, an amazing shower, and a bed so plush and comfortable it made sleeping in during the nor’easter feel like a luxury.

As someone who loves the outdoors, I especially appreciated the expansive deck, complete with a fabulous hot tub and a charming firepit. We were lucky enough to catch a break in the weather, and watching the sunrise over the mountains was absolutely breathtaking.

We also stopped by the Hinata bar and restaurant for some appetizers and drinks, and once again, our expectations were surpassed. The service was impeccable, and the food and drink offerings were gourmet and beautifully presented.

Being one of the first couples to stay in the Hinata retreat as soon as it opened was an honor and it also being our anniversary was a huge plus. My partner and I love to travel and experience new locations, the feels of outdoors and the romantic alone time in different cabins and let me tell you the Hinata retreat had to be the best cabin we’ve been to! This cabin offered all the amenities that you could think of to have the perfect stay with your significant other (a jacuzzi, fire place, a grill AND a romantic tub in the cabin)! And for the cabin to be only an hour away from where we live. The furthest we’ve had to travel was 3 hours to a different cabin. What makes it even better is that this retreat has their own restaurant only for their guest with the most immaculate food menu. My love and I ordered two ribeye steaks that were cooked perfect! With creamed spinach and French fries so delicious which was delivered to our cabin. The open view during the day and the dark night sky at night was the best part we found our best spot for a getaway for now on! We had the wedding weekend of our dreams at Hinata! From the moment we toured the property, we were blown away by the views and knew it was where we wanted to get married. The scenery alone is stunning, but what truly made our experience so special were the people behind it. From day one, Jen (the owner) was so responsive, reassuring, and kind. We hosted our welcome party and rehearsal dinner at the on-site restaurant, and I lost count of how many guests complimented the food and atmosphere. On wedding day, Katy, the BEST day of coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure everything went exactly as we envisioned. Her positive energy and attention to detail made the day run so seamlessly. She is a gem! We stayed in one of the cabins for a few days after the wedding, and the Hinata team surprised us with the sweetest touches- rose petals, some of our wedding florals, and a bottle of champagne.
