Wednesday, September 29, 2021, I shopped at Aldis and check out around 1:55 p.m. I spent $257.00 from my debit card. I noticed the cashier, Reci, greeted all customers who were ahead of me. When it was my turn, she seemed annoyed. She did not greet me and did not give me a chance to finish unpacking my water before she curtly stated, āI need your cart.ā Confused on why she changed her attitude towards me, I did not respond. She did not thank me at all. I do not want to assume everything is a race thing. I do notice that others like me have spoken about the rudeness at this same store location. It is not diverse at all. I want answers. Are we all welcomed or not because I will share my experience with my co-workers, family, friends and neighbors. They are intolerant of indifferences in treating people and Aldis will no longer receive their business. I was polite and thanked the cashier Reci. The next time I come to this store, I will have my camera phone to show and prove that it does not matter how much money you spend and how friendly and polite you are to these employees, they do not treat everyone fair and equal. On the positive note, the food was fresh. But there are local farmers that have fresh food, too. Aldis, please retrain your employees on great customer service. It brings customers back based on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsually I love Aldiās. Good food, prices are comparably lower in general, and thereās plenty of space to move around. And today was no different. Even tho itās gonna snow tomorrow, shoppers were calm and enjoying themselves. Weāre West Virginia mountain people. We know how to handle snow. Itās not that big a deal here. But when we got to the cashier, things were different. The gal behind the register was frantic, rude without cause, literally throwing our food, and when I politely asked her to be more careful, she snapped at me. Saying she was doing her job as per Aldiās training and requirements. I think if Aldiās is going to train itās employees to be rude to myself, my 70 year old mother who was with me at the time, and my community members as a matter of training, abuse our hard earned money by throwing our food around and damaging it in the process, and then train itās staff to get angry and defensive with us when we ask politely for better service and humane treatment, then Aldiās can find another town to set up shop in. Or they need to rapidly address staff dynamic and training. Weāre a small town. We wonāt be abused by your corporate dehumanization at our own expense. Perk up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy go to spot for grocery shopping. This store is always clean and very well stocked. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies all the time. They have increased their offerings quite a bit over the last few years. Great place to stock up on lunch goodies for the kids. AMAZING prices! They always have some interesting stuff in the āAldi findsā isle. I have found that the coffee kinda sucks and their are some items that are a step above dollar store stuff. But overall I love this place. Donāt get scared if the lines are super long, these cashiers can FLY !! Youāll have to remember to bring a quarter for the cart-youāll get it back- itās kinda weird....and bring your own bags. You can purchase bags if you forget. You have to pack your purchases by yourself but they give you a nice large counter to do so. I can go in here and spend $150 easyā it would have cost at least double that are any other local...
