The staff at the local store used to be incredibly warm and welcoming, always treating customers like family. During a particularly tough time filled with multiple family medical emergencies, Iāve relied on their Western Union service to send money home. My 80-year-old mother recently suffered a broken neck, which has led to frequent trips between NYC and Wellsboro, PA.
Since we donāt drive and the store is conveniently located just two blocks from my motherās house, it has been a lifeline for me. Unfortunately, after a recent conflict and numerous visits since July 2024, it seems they have decided to stop serving me. Each time I go in, I'm met with the frustrating news that the Western Union service is down. This is especially disheartening as the nearest alternative is over a mile away, uphill on my return journey. Managing this with my COPD, alongside the stress of my family situation, has become quite overwhelming.

One lady even tried to tell me I didn't scan an item and I did, she tried to argue with me and as soon as she saw that I did all she could say was hmm! The older lady at the self-checkout was not nice whatsoever but the lady at customer service was very nice and helpful! She helped me get my new Weis shopping card because I am not from this state I assume that is why they were watching me like that because she could tell I wasn't from here or they had never seen me before. Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was terrible!! I got $30 worth of groceries at Tops Market after we tried four to get use the Weis self checkout. (Not or first rodeo). After the 4th time the clerk had to reset the register we walked out and went to Tops. I tried to call Weis 3 times and asked for the following to no avail: to speak to a manager, assistant manager, to get a number for the Cooperate office and finally the 4th time to let them know I will be following with a letter to cooperate and I'll be changing my shopping habits. I will share this experience with anybody, friends, family, neighbors... Anyone that will listen how poor customer service is at Weis. Tops has wider isles, and no self check out.
