You've been warned. I took my 65" Samsung Tv to him. It was $45 to diagnose. He told me it was a board, which would be $350 to fix. I had to put $100 down to order the part. 1 week later he let me know the part was defective and had to get another. 2 weeks went by and I heard nothing. I followed up with multiple text messages, with no response. On the 3rd week of no reply, I called and finally got a hold of him. He then told me the screen was also busted and it would cost WAY more money to fix. This was not worth fixing at this point, as it would outweigh the cost of buying a new one. He told me he doesn't like to tell people they should just buy a new one, cause he feels bad, but this would have saved me all the money I am out now. No refund and now he gets to keep my TV for the parts and the board ... I would not recommend going here for anything. You'll likely just be throwing money...
Read moreI have had Richard, of Spectra repair, bring back to life, make whole so many vintage audio pieces that I just don't know where to begin. His knowledge is rare. Go ahead. Just try to find a vintage audio tech in the Charleston area. Richard is the real deal. From pieces made in the 40's all the way into the early 80's he has been spot on with his work. Receivers, turntables, reel to reels, radios, wire recorders, amplifiers, you name it. He can fix it or bring it back to life after sitting in grandpa's attic for fifty years! You won't be disappointed. Go with confidence. Steve in Cottageville, SC. Side bar- I just read some of the negative reviews on Richard. If you expect a tech to diagnose your piece for nothing, after finding that it is beyond repair, or if your TV fails down the road, likely due to an unrelated issue, don't...

I recommend his services and also recommend supporting a any local community member service such as his. If you are okay with a low key non commercial shop...
