Own a condo on street for 28 years. Lovely place to be but wish the street owners had their own private beach. When hot and busy sometimes we taxpayers are turned away. No problem when I was younger and thought nothing about walking but with old age I am forced to drive and then though we have resident parking that too is too small. There are days when try 3 times before I have success. I must say the people are all nice and no leaves a mess. They do pick up at least where I sit. After 52 years of being a Ct summer resident on a private beach R.I. is different.i love it but think it was a mistake to buy property without a private beach association is a mistake and will only get to be larger problem as the years go by. I think winter and summer residents should consider this as they have such beautiful beaches and their beach property could be increased in value with more private associations. I also think it is great for day trippers to have somewhere to go which makes me understand when all winter residents breath a sigh of relief when the summer people close up their cottages and head home...
Read moreWow! Just wow! I discovered this beach for the first time today and I’m in awe! The water was sparkling green blue and I was tempted to dive in despite it being 52degrees. I walked the expansive beach which is an excellent place to exercise which is what I came to do. The parking was easy, of course it’s off season, but it is a quintessential New England beach parking situation. I imagine you’d need to come early in the summer to get a parking spot. The beach is clean though I did do trash pickup for pieces of plastic that the tide had brought in. The beach is quite long and there is plenty of space to enjoy yourself. I felt like it’s an excellent place to come to relax and have a picnic. Overall, it’s great beach vibes, natural beauty and teaming with wildlife. I’m looking forward to many fun days here...
Read moreGreat beach, always clean and the staff is always friendly. They have bathrooms and a spot to rinse everything off. Life guard is on duty. Boogie boards/skim boards are allowed. They open at 9a and I try to make sure I'm there by 9:15a because sometimes the lot fills up quick - the sign up the road said the lot was full, but it wasn't, someone forgot to change it. It's $25 cash for parking. I don't know if they accept other forms of payment. I think the bathrooms close at 5 and the staff leave at that time - but I'm not positive. According to the sign the parking lot gets locked up at 9p. No smoking. Dells frozen lemonade truck usually comes in the afternoon but other than that there is no food or drinks served anywhere, so make sure to...
