As a Quonnie girl living in NYC with access to tons of stores and designers, none of those compare to shopping with Sandra and team at Galapagos! I dream of my trips back to my favorite beach town to be styled by the most incredibly fashionable, kind, and genuine woman who has an eye to pair the perfect dress, belt (knotted in the coolest way), and shoes. You look in the mirror and are truly transformed and in awe of how Sandra has put your look together! It always works, and you always look phenomenal. She just gets you and your style, and then elevates it beyond what you could have imagined. It is a shopping experience unlike anything you’ll ever come across (and this is from a girl who LOVES to shop). From international to runway to boutique designers - there is something for everyone to be found in one of the chic rooms of the perfectly curated house on the hill! From work conferences to weddings, I always feel confident and get a ton of compliments while wearing something from Galapagos. I cannot thank Sandra enough for all of the years of making me both look and feel fabulous. Hello all. I decided to check in on Galapagos to see if any good changes were happening, although it doesnt seem so. :( I wasn't surprised when I saw Gillians review, because I too worked at Galapagos around the time Gillian did. (Hope you're doing well Gill) She was indeed a gracious and hard worker. As for Sandra, well, I have experienced a pretty hurtful and traumatic experience working there. As the other previous worker (Gillian) had said, do not work here if you are younger. Sandra was sweet at times but also quite disrespectful at other times. As much as I loved the merchandise at that store, I would rather support someone who is more respectful to the people working for her. The only reason I am giving 2 stars, is because the merchandise is quite fantastic, however Sandra, I hope you have become a little more gentle with your employees. Remember to be kind to them. Love this boutique! I have been several times and met the owner during my last visit. I was amazed at how she put together such an amazing outfit for me from head to toe including accessories. Patterns and textures and colors that looked fabulous and she showed me how to pick a color from your top or sweater and enhance it with a beautiful scarf and jewelry. I even found some great boots on sale! You can't go wrong at this place, they have casual to elegant, a men's section where I purchased an awesome sweater for my love! The jewelry is outstanding. I was there just before the Holiday's, great socks, gloves, hats and hair accessories for stocking stuffers or co-workers. Definitely worth the drive from wherever you live, there is a great coffee shop attached and we had delicious Latte's and fresh homemade...
