I recently visited this restaurant with a couple of friends, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. When we arrived, the empty parking lot made us hesitant to go in, as we thought the place might be closed. Once inside, we noticed that the building wasn’t heated, which made dining a bit uncomfortable.
Our waitress was a younger staff member who seemed a bit standoffish. While we understand everyone has off days, her responses to our questions and requests came across as annoyed, which made the interaction less pleasant.
We ordered sushi, with two of us choosing the same roll. Unfortunately, one roll didn’t come out, and another was incorrect. When we asked about the missing roll, the waitress mentioned she hadn’t heard the order, which is fine—mistakes happen—but the way she responded felt unnecessarily curt.
For our entrées, I ordered chicken hibachi, and my friends ordered combinations that included chicken. All three of us noticed the chicken had an unusual taste. One friend also ordered medium-rare steak, but some pieces were only seared on one side and left completely raw.
Throughout the meal, we didn’t receive drink refills or a check-in from our server, which felt odd given how quiet the restaurant was. When the server eventually came by, I shared that I didn’t enjoy the chicken and didn’t want a replacement since I’d lost my appetite. The owner/manager came out to discuss it, but instead of addressing my concern empathetically, she responded by saying no one else had complained about the chicken. While I appreciate that she removed the dish from the bill, the interaction felt dismissive.
Overall, this experience was disappointing due to a combination of factors: the food quality, the atmosphere, and the service. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that the restaurant can address these issues and create a better experience for...
Read morePlaced a to go order online. Realized that it was at the wrong Yamato within 15 seconds of sending the order. I called the restaurant to try and keep them from making the order and request a refund. But I spoke to someone who didn’t speak English very well and I couldn’t make him understand my mistake. After looking back at the website I understand that the it says verify the address before placing a to go order. So that is my fault, but it says for “wasted food”. Which is why me calling within literal seconds of making the order I figured I could prevent them from wasting food. But I was just told repeatedly “no we make it. you come now, you come now!” I just don’t understand how the food was already made, especially when I modified one of the sushi rolls. So you’re telling me you made my sushi roll in 15 seconds. I dunno. I’m in the restaurant business and am usually pretty understanding with this stuff. But this was a pretty awful experience. I know it was partially my fault but the fact that I couldn’t even communicate with someone properly about the situation was pretty...
Read moreI moved to Charlestown last year and have been craving Hibachi so I gave it a try today.
When you walk through the door, you’re instantly greeted by a tight hallway with two bathrooms on the side. After I made my way through the hallway and to the front desk, I told the girl that I had a mobile order. Her only response was “last 4 of number?”
I ordered Hibachi Chicken and rice. Came with veggies, soup and a salad. My favorite dish at a typical hibachi restaurant is the soup and salad. I was disappointed. The soup tasted old and stale. For the salad, I’m 90% sure it was from a bag you buy at Walmart/Kroger. It was terrible.
The chicken tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day and heated up. It definitely wasn’t fresh. The veggies and rice seemed off too.
Tip and all, I spent $18.64 on this meal. I took a couple bites of everything and threw it all away. To me, this place is nothing close to an...
