As someone who tries to keep my business local, I have been very disappointed with D&D.
When we purchased our double wide (from an individual, not from them) we had them relocate it for us. They put down a pad and set up the home fine, but we ended up having to remove several hundred loose nails that were left on the roof. Our insurance company wouldn’t cover us until we climbed up to remove them ourselves.
My biggest let down, however, was when we sold the home. In our effort to keep business local, we recommended them to the new owner to relocate the home for her.
After she met with them, she contacted me appalled because she was told that we had lied to her about the value of our home and she was ‘shocked that we had recommended them’ because they had been so ugly about us.
She (our buyer) told us she felt as if they were only trying to discourage our home because they wanted to sell one of their own. They were even telling her that a few other mobile home movers we had recommended weren’t qualified to move it.
I am grateful that our buyer contacted us to let us know about the shady business practices going on and that she continued with her plans to buy our home. And we found an alternate mobile home mover so things worked out.
But when this issue was mentioned to the business, the claim was that she had lied about them. But she had nothing to gain from lying to us.
I was just absolutely appalled at someone trying to cut down and insult us after we tried to send them business. I can’t believe it happened and I am just very disappointed in the situation.
I hope no one else has to go through this same stress and worry that we had while trying to keep our business local. I just know that this particular local business won’t be getting any more...
Read moreThe people are nice people but they are not prompt on the way they handle their business. They don't keep you informed on what's going on with the home that your buying like paperwork or how long it might take for things to happen while your waiting. Their not very good business people and they have too much going on at one time. I have been waiting for 2 weeks for my steps to be installed and for them to complete the siding on my double wide home, so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you have plenty of time to wait for everything to be completed, they have put other people ahead of me also, it's like once they get their money then you go on the back burner. Here it is February 2018 and they still haven't finished the siding on my home making it look awful. Also haven't gotten any front steps yet! 7 months & I finally got my front steps & skirting delivered!! 8 months they finally put skirting around home it's looking a lot better. 10 months & I am still WAITING for siding to be completed & inside too!! We have called all throughout this process & he gives good promises but his word is no good!! I don't wish any ill on these folks they have way too many irons...
Read moreWould not recommend..we applied for a repo, was approved and sent in some of the requested documents but never heard back from anyone. Everytime I called, Johnny was not there. He was always out running errands or out of town. Never got an email or phone call back from him whatsoever. When I reached back out again he was gone once again and this time I found out the mobile home was sold. If you're lookin to purchase a home, do not waste your time here....
