Over the years I inherited and collected so much in life that in my moving processes I am overwhelmed with moving so much. Lots of antiques and collectibles I had no idea what to do with. I contacted Mercury auction and they came out and assessed my household and with a very positive glee in his eyes, Zach offered to take EVERYTHING to auction it off. Amazing people!! I had over the years inherited over 5 different homes of stuff. Sentiments get in the way and it's difficult to part with your junk. Lol. Well, we did it. Packed up what felt like tons of items and took it to the auction house. I recieved my first payment for items sold and felt wonderful. It wasn't the amount of money received, it was the ease and no stress of getting rid of my life's possessions. Mercury auctions I greatly add they made it painless and I didn't have to deal with people trying to purchase items. Definitely no hassles. I will continue to use Mercury Auctions for all sales transactions. Thank you to them all. Loving staff.
I would like to do a follow up on my initial review. I must say my opinion changed to a negative. I received small checks periodically for months for items being sold at the auctions. I was never informed when an auction was happening just the small checks and inventory of what was sold.. I had voiced several requests when I signed up with them to sell my items. When they took my items I had clearly made it known what I expected for some of the items, had asked them if they needed the history and value on the high end items. I was informed they did research of items to get value. I had 2 antigue dealers come out and give me values in most if my items prior to the auction. I offered this to Mercury. YOU can't imagine my shock when I saw what they sold some of the antigues and collectibles for. SHOCKING to say the least. I started to believe they had a pattern as they would start every bid at $1.00 and accept the fourth bid ad most stuff was selling for $2.50 ,to $4.50. When I recieced the final letter saying all was done and thank you for my business I was more the shocked and confused. NOT EVERYTHING THEY TOOK TO SELL HAD BEEN SOLD. ITEMS that should have made money on as I knew costs were sold for dollars. I drafted a letter of my concerns and had left phone messages of my concerns. No responses. I seriously felt I am owed several thousands of dollars for my items they contracted to sell. And the items not accounted for are a concern. I had trusted and believed in this group but they failed my expectations. I'M aware yardbirds was closed but is Mercury still there and doing business? Mercury. Please reach out to me. I need answers, money and items not sold. Sadly this is a form of theft....
Read moreSeller beware. When I met with the representative from Mercury I was led to believe that they focus on specialty auctions for items such as fine art, collectibles, vintage jewelry and clothing. They said that they take photos of the auction items, catalog them and auction the items by category. I’ve sent items to Cowans auctions in Ohio where they did a beautiful job of photographing each item, cataloging them and auctioning items by category because they knew the value of what they were auctioning and have integrity. They also sent a catalog for me to keep. That’s classy. Mercury Auctions has no clue what they’re auctioning or the value, and are a far cry from a true auction house. I sent several fine art pieces with descriptions and they sold an original ICart numbered with the blind stamp that I had appraised at over 1400.00 for 12.00. Collectibles that had between 200-400 value were sold for under 20.00. 1940’s belly dancing costumes from a famous belly dancer sold for a dollar. In addition to this they scatter your items throughout their warehouse and sell it whenever they get around to it. My items were tossed in a box with a bunch of junk and a photo taken. These were expensive pieces that someone bought for pennies because they were misrepresented as junk. They said that all the antique stores in Centralia love them. Well I know why, because store owners get their stuff for cheap at the expense of those who were foolish enough to do business with Mercury. I would have been better off...
Read moreWe were v-e-r-y apprehensive about hiring an auction house to hopefully sell estate sale items. Meeting with Zach and Regina set us at ease as to their auction process. Going down to their physical warehouse and auction gave us the belief that Mercury was a legit business!! Sure enough, about a month in, with many of our items placed and sold at their auctions, we trust and believe in their auction process that they have developed. They process and categorize items, have different auction dates for different categories. Amazingly organized! Checks are mailed accordingly; after auction house costs are deducted. Zach will go over Mercury's auction process and how proceeds are paid out. Again, we're very impressed by their operation, process and personnel and would highly recommend you reach out to Zach when the...
